Hmmm. We seem pretty good at sorting out the pretenders from the real contenders. We can finish no higher than 13th, no lower than 14th. I reckon Port better start worrying. Our only issue is whether or not we are going to manage to get 22 fit guys out there!
Considering positions on the ladder and available troops, this is not a bad effort. Goals: Watson & Reynolds DISPOSALS: Dirago 9, Garlett 9, Lucas 8, Cattapan 8, Cripps 7
Yes Geelong have bigger stronger bodies than ours Thats a major reason why we get injured
To be honest, I think we get injured because Geelong play a very physical game and quite often stretch the rules on contact to well past their max. Notice that we were sniped behind the play a couple of time last night as well. Look at Hawthorn, Sydney and Geelong and they all play a more physical brand of football than we do. There are more injuries in those games. However, none of them like it when the boot is on the other foot. probably because few teams can do it enough to harm them. When Gibbs and Murphy stand up to their s*it, they do not like it at all.
The development side went down by 16 points: a pretty impressive effort for a side with so many players unavailable.
The maingame has begun and begun well: Warnock to mids to Watson to goal. Unfortunately it hasn't remained quite so good, but at Blues 1 - 2 - 8 to Port 2 - 3 - 15 (with Connors having both goals) we are not too bad.
Fair enough. There were plenty of positives and have been more coming each week recently. Here are a couple of mine: [1] With our list restrictions and injuries we are running teams who have had the wood on us to a few points. This is going to give the guys some confidence for next time, especially those guys who have just come into the team. The only team that has got us was Sydney, and they managed it only for 1 quarter. (The fact that it was their best quarter for the year and our worst is another issue.)
[2] We have introduced a number of guys recently who look like they have futures. Sheehan had a decent night last night. With a bit of intelligent list management we can see more talent coming through next year.
[3] Our coach appears to be coaching quite well tactically and strategically. It was not easy early on, but there appears to be some method in the madness of late. He has won the tactical battles: now we need to turn it into scoreboard success.
[4] Some of our greatest weaknesses of the first half of the year are becoming strengths: our midfield structures, our defence, our tackling, etc. We even appear to have some pace again.
I hate losing to these zeroes. So many of the supporters wouldn't have seen a football game until they starting winning and most wouldn't know a free kick if it kicked them in the crotch. However, to do as well with half a team shows how much better we are playing at the moment. With something close to a healthy list... No, I won't go there. Time to appreciate what we did. There were some excellent performances last night that need rewarding.
Remember: [1] At least 3 players need to get a mention. [2] No more than 10 votes for any one player. [3] Give a rating of team performance [4] Votes must add up to 15.
Thank you for your humble thoughts. I wish I could get there myself, even though things are not probably going to end well.
I simply hope that someone steps up today and deserves a game next week. We are going to need someone to replace our host of injured players from last night.

Fair dinkum, we have so few listed guys out there!
Not likely to be a successful game, but maybe our underachievers will come good this week. And maybe the horse will learn to sing.
Our last wins against Geelong have all been at the MCG. It is about time we got over that particular issue.

They probably reckon that we are the favourites: after all, we are 13th and they are 3rd and looking to finish on top. Kade Simpson named as CHB. I hope we log this bunch of poseurs!
I saw Riccardi's kick deflect from Wiggo's hand... at leats one of that 12 is a con job.
Be prepared to get absolutely reamed on Friday night - the ducker chuckers get carte blanche against us.
And their last 'win' was shown millions of times not to be. And the Umpire's boss admitted it. They have been on borrowed time against us for quite a while. It may not quite be time to call in the debts, but the better we play, the clearer it will be to them that THE DEBTS WILL BE PAID!
Add in the more favourable 2015 draw finishing bottom 6. But that should be doable regardless as there are what 2 games and % between us and the next side above us?
Cats will want to keep their home final top 2 chances alive too.
We absolutely must go all out to win this, and I think we will. If we don't then too bad, but I want to see an heroic effort by us!
We've had a few heroic efforts this year. However, getting close to them would almost screw them up mentally as much as a Carlton win would. They must understand just how undermanned we are at the moment.
If Warnock cant beat up on a undersized suburban footballer in Meese then he should be moved on.....
Considering how often they must have rucked with and against each other, it is truly not a good sign for Warnock. Meese has a huge heart, but he shouldn't get close to Warnock. About the only excuse I can come up with is the condition of the centre square at Willi, which is usually not fit for football when it rains. It would hurt Warnock far more than it would Meese.
I am a winning addict being deprived of my substance of choice on too many occasions.
I think we all have, Cookie. Even the coach needs a good dose of dopamine: look at his pressers and you can see the relative lack of neurotransmitters in his behaviour.
