I'll be at the game, hence the preparation for the big one. Hope we can do it for Andrew's 200th.

And for Jack's 1st.
Absolutely! I'll even be at the VFL game with my daughter. I just don't get there enough for my tastes.

This qtr has just highlighted how bad we need a forward who can give us a target. Casboult hasn't been sighted , White has been positive , but no structure at all.

Post by: Baggers on July 02, 2016, 08:25:11 pm
A skinny kid in his first game has looked better than Casboult and Everitt. And at least White is a presence up forward.

Are Casboult and Everitt playing?

I may regret saying this but I'd almost prefer Jones to Caboult/Everitt at present!!!!

Come on Charlie and Harry, get you match fitness up and replace these two pretenders.

Post by: Robblues on July 02, 2016, 08:33:50 pm
Yep as much as we have all bagged Jones, it would be hard to be worse than the missing twins today . If Charlie was fit you would think Everitt would be with the NBs next week.

Murphy and Armfield missed.

Silvagni looks like he is quickly running out of puff, not uncommon for first-gamers though.

Tuohy is getting the aggot but his disposal is just errant and his decision-making leaves a lot to be desired.

Is Casboult actually playing ??

Phillips is competing ferociously but looks unco to often.

Cripps looks like he is carrying an injury, just not his normal self.

White is throwing some weight around, quite like that.

Docherty & Simpson are very solid in defence.

Lamb has surprised me tonight, I'm not one of his biggest fans but he has been really cracking in.

Sumner's tackling is a feature.

Cripps looks stuffed, needs a break.  Gees we miss Murph.

Silvagni, with some body strength, will be a player.

Soft frees created a two goal swing at a critical stage of the quarter.

I'm at the game and tuohys holding the ball wAs in front of me in front of Collingwood goals - didn't look like HTB?? Looked like the Collingwood player held it under him but the umpire BEHIND them said HTB? Wtf?!

If Andrejs Everitt plays again this season we are not fair-dinkum.

He is a 195cm version of Tutt, a heartless, soulless, short stepping spud of international proportions.

Twice tonight he had small Collingwood players cold as they switched play and both times he has refused to compete. He plays like he is waiting for someone else to give him a clear easy ball.

Further more, entering F50 he has had opportunities to do the right thing by team-mates and allow them clear and easy possession. Instead he has run forward in what I can only describe as gutless football and allowed Collingwood to clear the ball.

It's just exactly what we do not need from a 195cm player.

We lack two fast mids and a lot of ability forward of centre.

Worst game I've seen from Cripps, has made critical errors and looks three yards off the pace.

I've been saying this all year. No where near as damaging as he was last year sadly.

Just a good inside mid but a liability on the outside.

Needs a bigger tank and must work on getting some sort of even average speed.

Simpson, Docherty, Byrne ... not much else so far tonight. 4 goals in 3 qtrs says it all. C'wood are pretty cr@p. Sides have figured us out now - just flood as close to goal as possible and our structure falls away.  Bolts needs more cattle to work with.

That's why Curnow and McKay are our future.

Kerridge needs to take first option, holds onto it waaaay to long.

Late hit from Varcoe and Byrne does a knee.

I haven't kept up with this thread and was only watching the game in bit and pieces but umps looked pretty average and Gibbs was getting F'd in the A every time I switched over. Constantly being held and dragged down after contests as play rolled on. Need Murph back and need a proper forward line.
SOJ didn't look half bad, although a little nervous perhaps.

I must've watched a different game to the one shown on the stats - we had more :
hit outs
cont poss
I 50's
marks inside 50
clearances
free kicks
kicks

- seriously ?

Yes, soon after we possess the ball, we turn it over, and when we eventually get it inside 50 we fail to score, and the thing comes flying out.

Our lack of pace wasn't exposed tonight - it's a shame everything else was.

Really depressed after watching that. Seriously depressed.

Nobody wanted to take responsibility. This was illustrated when Silvagni kicked backwards instead of having a 15m shot from almost dead in front! First gamer, I know but geez!

True as much as SOJ was an serviceable, there were deer in headlight moments, and as others have said let's put it down to first game. Maybe he mistook the angle he was on for that close shot to goal and did the team thing and look for an option? It's the next game which might give us a better look at how he fits in.
