I thought his game against WC /Cox earlier in the season was a ripper and better than his game today, his game today was very good, his games last week and the week before were also very good.
Cannot agree on that, previous weeks he did stuff all outside of the tap work.

This week he was 1000% better contesting the ball once it hit the ground!

His second half against Port last week was influential in our comeback.

Haven't seen today's replay as yet, but what was evident being at the game was the amount of ground he covered, and number of contests he got to, very very good game.. Last week his attack on the ball including his ground work was very good in second half. I remember his attack at a critical stage in that last q when the game was in the balance was critical.

What a great win by the blue baggers. My BIL is a Richmond support and I absolutely gave it to him, bombarded him with about 10 SMS's after the game. The team was just fantastic and I have to agree with most of the posters about it been the second best final that I have seen apart from winning grand finals, the 1999 prelim been the best.

I thought that playing Riewoldt up the ground played into our hands as Edwards could not kick straight and Vickery was not as effective as he has been in the past. If Edwards was the leadup forward and Riewoldt takes the marks in front then he would of more likely converted those points into goals. The guys just don't give up and MM has instilled into them a never die attitude. They play for him and they will walk over hot coals for him. He has earned his pay this year and is worth ever cent. I only wish that Geelong would of won on Saturday as we would play them in the prelim instead of Freemantle in Perth. However in the words of MM one week at a time. Go Bluessssssssssssssssssssss.

I reckon Wanock has put on some muscle and getting more aggressive and confident...

Warnock is pushing out Kreuzer or Hampson. One of the other 2 might not be at the club too much longer.

I think a reality check is in order here Mantis  ;)

Warnock got lots of hitouts, kicked a ripper goal, dished out a couple of bumps, and got thoroughly pantsed by Maric.  Kreuzer got lots of hitouts too, did some heavy work, saved quite a few goals with great spoils, and got thoroughly pantsed by Maric.

I think Kreuzer is still ahead of Warnock by virtue of his ability to be more than just a tap ruckman.  Warnock is an exceptional tap ruckman but is limited by his inability to go forward or win the ball around the ground.  Hampson is, in my view, a better tap ruckman than the other two and is more versatile than Warnock.  His inability to play out a season is a drawback but the other two aren't that much better.  In fact, retaining all three on our list is probably the best way to ensure that we have at least one specialist ruckman available.

Not sure how much farther we can go, always in with a chance in two horse races and you never know!

But after today regardless of what happens I am sort of satisfied, there is no team left in the finals that I really hate and stamping Nthmond's papers under the guidance of the past Collingwood super-coach after being invited to do so by EFC is just about as good as it gets without winning a flag!

Are we now officially the only team to win a final from 9th position, yet another tick on the Carlton FC honor board? If not, at least Nthmond have the dishonor of being ejected from the finals by the 9th place side!

Alot more irony in that last sentence than you could imagine.

Our footy team is one strange cat. crap and good from week to week, sh1t and good in the same game, capable of being mentally weak and mentally very strong within  the same game, and now into  the second week of the finals and in with a chance.

Must say we have been good against top sides this year most time without necessarily winning. Those above small crap patches got us in alot of those games and we got robbed blind against the Hawks.

Just watched the Replay.

Gibbs was so good in the last. Just lacked a goal but that would be one of the best quarters in a final from any Carlton player.

Seriously watch it again.... Well done Bryce.

How did you not give him votes ? I had him as one of the best 3 players we had.

Call it as you see it buddy. Hard to argue with you on that note. However if this Gibbs stays as he is going at the moment in the last few games, Mick will be the credit of an absolute elite. Like what he did to Daisy. A good player every now and then, to a genuine contributor with class.

A good morning of radio tomorrow - first, MMM to hear Eddie venting, and then KB on SEN may receive a couple of calls from Carlton fans.

Bartlett will be frothing at the mouth, just wish Sheedy was on air with him. This would be gold in oh so many ways!  :)) :)) :))

I want to congratulate the boys on a magnificent second half of football.

To say the first half was pathetic, is an understatement. What most of the players showed, is what has been lacking for most games this season, what was lacking in the first half last week, and what was totally lacking in the first half this week. They showed true guts and determination, and that, plus Richmond tiring, due to the early loss of Conka, and their inability to rotate off the bench as they would have liked, gave us the win.

The first half, was undisciplined crap, not helped by at least one very dubious 50 metre penalty against Kade, and one free not paid to Waite against Rance.

In the second half, all except Armfield who took the day off, Yarran, who still contributed very little, Kreuzer, who has a bad leg, but when he didn't, couldn't take a mark, Hendo, who despite taking a great courageous mark, did not have one of his best games, and Mcguiness, was he really out on the ground, earnt their pay.

If the boys pull up well and can recover after 6 days, they are a real chance to beat Sydney who are undermanned and carrying a lot of injuries.

At least we are there, and we have the satisfaction of going further than Collingwood and Richmond and the drug cheats.

BUT, and here is the but, let us not forget how we, yes we on this forum, have rightly bagged the players for many a pathetic effort over this season.

Let us revel in this win against our enemy, but let jus also realise that if we want to finish in the final four next year on our own merits, there needs to be a massive culling of players who don't cut the mustard.

I have said in previous posts, that I hoped that if we won a few games, and yes, even a final, it would not divert our coach recruiters and the board from the vital job that they are entrusted to do for us the supporters.

Recruit the very best that they can so that in our 150th year, we can stand on the dais at the MCG on grand final day holding the premiership cup aloft.

Nothing less than that will satisfy this supporter.
