VFL 2021 Rd 2: Carlton vs Brisbane

The game is on at 11:00 at Prince park (Ikon Oval) on Saturday.
Our team:
Backs: Cody Hirst  Ed Delany  Ryley Stoddart
Half-backs:  Cooper Stephens  Stefan Radovanovic  Tom Williamson
Centreline: Will Setterfield Lochie O'Brien  Matt Kennedy
Half-forwards:  Ben Caluzzi  Josh Honey  Matt Owies
Forwards:  Corey Durdin  Ben Crocker  Sam Ramsay
Followers:  Alex Mirkov   James Parsons   Paddy Dow
Interchange:  Toby Wooller    Tom North   Sam Philp  Matt Shannon
Emergency:   Dale Marshall    Aaron Gundry   Lachie Swaney  Fraser Phillips

Still no numbers posted.
There is a bit more experience in the side, Durdin and Philp will be on more minutes. A couple of guys have something to prove after last week's capitulation.
But out biggest problems will again be structural: not a lot of height along the spine and only 1 ruckman who cannot yet see out a game. It does not bode well.
Brisbane still have close to a full list. We don't.
Live Long and Prosper!

Only 10 Senior listed players, shows just how many injuries we have, not a tall defender between them FFS. And of those 10 playing, I only hold hope for 5 of them (Durdin, Philp, Ramsey, Owies and dare I say it Dow).
2017-16th
2018-Wooden Spoon
2019-16th
2020-dare to dream? 11th is better than last I suppose
2021-Pi$$ or get off the pot
2022- Real Deal or more of the same? 0.6%
2023- "Raise the Standard" - M. Voss Another year wasted Bar Set
2024-Back to the drawing boardNo excuses, its time

Does that include FOXTEL or exclusive to Kayo?

The cull of tall timber last off season (BSOS, Goddard, the other tall kid always injured Macreadie) without replacing any of the 3 was a bizarre decision/non decision.
Finals, then 4 in a row!

Yes... very strange. Although Parks looks like a master-stroke so if he took 1 of those spots I think we're well in front.

Oscar McDonald cannot kick so I can't see much hope there unless he plays forward.

5-1-31 to nothing our way.

Is it too late to swap them for the firsts :D

The big ruckman Mirkov is pretty impressive with his tap work so far.

Quarter time 12-1-73 to Brisbane 3-0-18

Three late goals to Brisbane in a 40 minute quarter....think they forgot to sound the siren

(15 goal quarter probably had a bit to do with the length).

Probably have to be a little cautious judging individual performances because the pressure and intensity is pretty much non-existent.
