You need to lose one to win four!
Finals, then 4 in a row!

I reckon Judd and possably others would go around  again if we go that close in 2014.

What gives people the idea that we will finish top four?

Natural progression ;) :D

Goz you've been a bit dismissive of our chances this year. You've even suggested we won't make the 8.
Why the pessimism?

My own thoughts were that Malthouse would take a year to get things under (his) control and that the coming season would be one for definite ladder improvement.
If we don't make the eight there will be some serious questions asked.

Finishing Position: 3rd
Carlton B&F: Henderson

I suppose the amount of times I've heard in the pre season over the years thatthe blues will finish top four is a little like the boy who cried wolf....eventually people arent going to take it seriously if it never happens.

I see where you're coming from...but to miss the eight we'd have to go backwards or sides below us would have to improve dramatically.
I just can't see that happening.
I don't think Malthouse can afford to see that happening.

We missed the eight in 2013. It was only through extraordinary circumstances that we got in. So technically speaking we have missed the eight two years running after finishing 5th in 2011. Hopefully with the list having a clean out that was long overdue we can go forward. Based on what I've seen the last two years I'm not sold on us...but with a few list changes we're an unknown quantity.

Pretty much Amers, we basically have to be a top four team by the end of the year for Judd to hang around one more. Otherwise if we are still battling just for a finals spot then I don't think the great man will hang for another 2-3 years and sadly it will be the end of an unbelievable career.
