I have done some research and discovered a food-safe epoxy adhesive manufactured by Permabond that should enable me to repair the glass. However, the relevant Permabond adhesive isn't available in Australia and I would have order it from the USA. Can anyone think of an alternative solution, bearing in mind that I only need around a pinhead's worth and it's to plug a hole rather than joining two pieces? Leaving it as a prank glass isn't an option.
Not sure if you have looked on Amazon, but the australian site has a lot of american stuff that you struggle to find elsewhere.
If TDK was out you would not want to be 1st rucking Young, or worse still 1st Rucking BigH and running him into the ground.
You could ruck Young if necessary. His ruckwork has improved significantly since his lacklustre efforts last season and, at worst, Kreuzer could equip him to nullify the opposition ruckman. Our midfielders are good enough to rove to a break even or losing ruck.
Using Young as our first ruck may be a "break glass in an emergency" situation but it means that we won't be using Harry. Of course, Skull is developing very well and would now be competitive against AFL ruckmen.
In terms of ruck ability/output. TDK/Pittonet Harry/Jack/Cripps Okeefe/Lemmey/Kennedy (yes i know he's not with us anymore) ... Young
He is not a 1st choice, 2nd choice/6th choice ruck.
As a result he has been played as a Key defender, key forward and a ruck. He is rather average at all.
However, if he is a 3rd.....any of them, he is very good.
He doesn't do well with physical contact, and with his height, he is always asked to play on the biggest and baddest....which has hurt him. He did play some blinders a few years ago, but they seem to be few and far between. However, the emergence of Jack along with the fitness of Weiters, Charlie and Harry means the pressure is off Young to perform. So he is.
Still not sure he plays when we have a fit Kemp, Gov etc, but he deserves a spot on the list.
Tend to agree. The last thing we needed was for Carroll to get injured in the VFL.
In that case, we probably should have rested most of the AFL listed players.
It reminds me of the storeman we once had; "You can't take that theodolite (shovel, hammer, tent, chainsaw etc), someone else may need it!"
Resting Pittonet after the heavy knock he received made sense, but Carroll should have played unless he's carrying an injury.
AFL played Friday night. VFL Played Saturday.
We knew what injuries we had from Friday night before the VFL played. We know we need to replace Cowan (and possibly McGovern and potentially even Haynes and Acres). Carroll, is probably the best player available to replace all of those blokes, with Docherty the other one in contention, who has been out of form, but has a battle hardened body who can cope with quick turnarounds.
So I reiterate, this is probably the smartest thing we have done as a MC for a while now. If you forgot about the timing of the above, of don't think Carroll gets a gig next week, so be it. However, i reckon he is an absolute lock to come in and the above is proof of that.
Apparently Matt Carroll was withdrawn from the game because he may be required for the Firsts next Friday. If true, that seems a little odd to me.
Doc was a class above the opposition but he had plenty of time to choose the best option and generally executed well. I don’t think that he’s played his last AFL game but that’s got more to do with our injury trends than his form.
Not odd. He was probably dropped in part because he needed a rest after being thrown in the deep end with what was probably a limited pre-season. Rather than waste some time/energy playing in the 2's, he'll get slotted back to the 1's next week probably taking Cowans spot which needs to be covered.
TBH, thats about as smart as a decision as our collective MC has made in a long long time.
Wright's involvement with List Management is probably a bit of a sore point given we've been bitten by CEO's getting involved before....but it is an area where he at least has some experience. A lot may depend on who has the List manager position at the end of the year.
Wright gives the impression he's going to be pretty 'hands on'. Whether that turns out to be a good thing, or a disruptive one time will tell.
It's I not ansore point because the bloke jn power who had no experience in list management tried overrule the bloke who had, a couple times at least, and tried to bring his mate into the club off the back of that. That has subsequently set off the former list manager to the point where he won't return to the club to celebrate his own success or the success of his son.
As ive said many times Charlie is overrated due to being exciting to watch.
Hes great when the ball is delivered to his advantage but FMD he does my head in when the pressure is right on or when he doesnt have the space to work in.
looks lazy and disinterested when the going gets tough. if only he had even one half of jacks heart
Harry can be frustrating but opposite to Charlie when the game is in the balance he pushes himself hard and as a result his best work is regularly done when the game is being decided.
We could do with some more overrated hacks that kick 3 goals a game on an AA defender in top form.
That has us sitting in 9th % out of the 8 from GWS. With most of the round to play, e could end up down to 11th if results go against us. We play GWS next week which is an 8-point game and could get us into the 8 with a win.
