Jim Park Voting Round 10 Carlton vs Adelaide

Today we may have seen the end of Chris Judd. However, we have seen something of a rebirth of Carlton spirit. In the end we couldn't get over the line, but we deserved to get over the line. In many ways this was our best effort for the year.
Well, now it is time to reward those who deserved a mention.

Remember:
[1] At least 3 players need to get a mention.
[2] No more than 10 votes for any one player.
[3] Give a rating of team performance. It can be anywhere from A+ to F.
[4] Votes must add up to 15.

I simply cannot give a higher score to a team that lost and whose skills are as bad as ours are. But there was so much positive to come out of the game. We really deserved to win. However, it was not to be and we lost a champion in the carnage.
I was tempted to rate the game a Z just for that.

Votes:
I simply do not have enough votes to adequately share this week, unlike all the other games I have seen this year (I didn't see out win in NZ). Multiply these by 2 and I probably still underestimate their value.
[3]   Murphy
[2]   Curnow
[2]   Simpson
[2]   Tuohy
[1.5]   Cripps
[1]   Henderson
[1]   White
[1]   Docherty
[0.5]   Bell
[0.5]   Walker
[0.5]   Buckley

Explanations:
[3]   Murphy:   best game in a long time. Brilliant stats and some real leadership, especially after Judd went down. Our change of game plan seems to suit him.
[2]   Curnow:   Took Sloane to the cleaners and got leather poisoning himself.
[2]   Simpson:   Another excellent effort with lot of run and leadership.
[2]   Tuohy:   Spent more time on Betts than anyone else and took him apart.
[1.5]   Cripps:   Very good until he was injured.
[1]   Henderson:   His best effort for ages. Our style of game gave him a much better chance to get a possessions and he took the opportunity in both hands.
[1]   White:   Spent a lot of time on Walker and kept him subdued.
[1]   Docherty:   Doc's kicking today was not up to his recent standard, but his effort was stellar.
[0.5]   Bell:   After a very quiet start, Tom blew into the game and really showed a lot.
[0.5]   Walker:   Very quiet in the first half, but excellent thereafter.
[0.5]   Buckley:   Spent time on Betts and Cameron and ran off them very well. His dash from defence was good.

Honourable Mentions:
In recent weeks there have barely been any guys who deserved an horourable mention. There were barely enough guys to deserve votes. That was not so today.
Kreuzer:   Promising signs, but has a long way to go.
Armfield:   Not enough of the ball, but he gave a go and managed 2 good goals.
Everitt:   Looks much better at the moment. Playing his role well without looking soft.
Rowe:   Beaten in the end by a stronger guy, but he did a fair bit of good stuff as well.
Carrazzo:   Time is catching up with Carrots, but he still had a lot of the ball and was a useful contributor. I was very tempted to give him a vote.
Graham:   His last 2 weeks have been a great improvement. He played more like a serious senior midfielder and his goal was excellent. Still not enough of the ball, but he is improving. Not static at all.
Wood:   Ended up being beaten by Jacobs, but he worked like a Trojan and was a very useful contributor.

Other Comments:
Judd:   What a sad end. He was beating Dangerfield until he got hurt.
Menzel:   Not right at all. He tried hard enough, but he is clearly not fit. If he needs an operation, as is mooted, then he should have it now and get prepared for 2016. We may be devoid of small forwards, but playing unfit ones is not a winning move.

Some good performances across the board, but the skill level is why we are where we are.
