Looked to me like we were playing to minimise the damage rather than win the game. How do you explain playing a 5 man forward line against this mob? Looks like Bolton is in survival mode. Still they did have a decent crack at least. Completely knackered by Q4. Injuries curse continue to hurt us.
This is beyond absurd. What about the camp ? What about injuries to : Luke Brown Harry Dear Rory Laird Tom Lynch Rory Sloane Riley Knight Mitch McGovern Paul Hunter Brodie Smith Brad Crouch Taylor Walker
Those blokes are either out for large chunks of the season, or in and out over several weeks.
We've gone backwards since Gibbs left, so I guess applying your logic in reverse, he must have been our best player.
You forgot to add Jake Lever and Charlie C Crows are a shadow of their side from last year.
They will improve drastically with E Curnow back because he adds toughness, but why not put Kerridge in there to bash and crash. It's not like he has silky skills we need to protect.
Maybe the answer to that question is because he is crape? By hand or foot he butchers the ball continually and they've decided he causes less damage holistically to the team when he's nowhere near the ball. The fact that we can't OR wont replace him, along with O'Shea, Mullett, Graham, etc. etc. with someone from the two's is more depressing.
Used my son's MCC provisional membership to get a couple of tickets for the wife and myself to have a family day at the footy. Great idea! Ended up leaving half the way through the last. Worst performance I've seen for many years. Just have to add worst coaching for many years as well. As one point in the game we had a 4 man forward line. I think it was when we were 6 goals down and we STILL bombed it in long. Defies logic. 9 games in and we are still playing Mullett, O'Shea, Kerriga, Graham, Garlett, SPS, Jones, PlHaven't they had enough chances? Are the blokes running around in the two's really that bad that they can't get a gig?? Seriously? No system, no passion, no idea.
So if an example needs to be made (don't touch an umpire) Carlton are the 'go to' club. They're down in the dumps They're not challenging for a finals position. ...and they'll cop it quietly. Would they expect the same response from a Geelong or Hawthorn? I doubt it.
Thing is Lods, neither of those two clubs have to cop anything. See Selwood hit on Lindsay Thomas (thrown out) Mitchell elbow to Goldsteins head (fine) and that's only this year!
The double standards, inconsistencies and just plain wrong calls the AFL continue to roll out are diabolical. It shouldn't be that hard.
Great and really unexpected result. Wish I could be as optimistic as a few on here about our fortunes moving forward from here but I'm a bit jaded from years of heartbreak. OK to see the positives but realistically spuds like Mullett and O'Shea and Graham are going to let us down when the whips start cracking. One thing for sure is that for us to have any chance of winning both Kreuzer and Cripps have to be in our best players. We cannot win if either of these 2 have an off game. What Kreuz coulda been without the injuries. Ed Curnow could be winning the B&F but for Cripps. Unfortunately he will be getting a week off for touching the ump. Stupid. Happy with the improvement shown in Dow and O'Brian but maybe due for a rest?
Thank-you Lods for the bomberblitz link. Have spent nearly as much time reading that forum as this forum. Just gold!
You know the best thing? We get to play Essendon into form next week. Awesome.! Just when I thought things couldn't get worse. You know what? If they drop Kerrige, Graham, O'Shizen and Mullett that as good as a win for me.
How can you think that playing Rowe Casboult and Phillips alongside McKay, Kreuzer and Jones against such a strong midfield is beyond my comprehension. It’s just beyond stupid. When will the MC learn?
