Robert Heatley Stand / Re: Best 22 for 2014
@Pratty
Dead right IMO. Hendo is the only younger guy we've got atm who looks anthing like a good KPF prospect so we have to go with him. Finding another remains our big priority.

Casboult may, and I emphasise MAY, be one option. We'll see how he goes this year.

Waite is Waite - can't rely on him playing the full season out.

You're dead right again Pratty in saying that we'll be relying heavily on other non-KPF types.
Until Casboult does 100 shots at goal after every training session and learns how to kick, he wont be a fwd option in the ones for us and will end up delisted. He has the tools to be a good player, maybe even great. He needs to dedicate his life to becoming an elite kick and be supremely fit. Yes the Boyds and Hogans of the world are extremely talented but they didnt become elite juniors by accident either. You can tell by listening to them speak and the way they act that they are super dedicated and hell bent on being elite. Levi comes across (to me at least and I have met him in person) as being very lazy and one who enjoys his off field very much. I like the bloke, I would love him to become great but unless he has a major change in attitude, he will be just a VFL player at best. And if any can get the best out him, its MM.

This drives me nuts!  Levi has clearly changed his shape since he came the club, on the rookie list. For a guy of his size that is a hard thing to do, the clearly ran harder and further up the ground last year and I suspect he will progress again this year, you don't end up being able to run all day at 105kgs without years of development.

How the hell would you know what his attitude is like????

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: Best Line Up - 2013 vs 2014
B: Simpson Jamison McInnes
HB: Tuohy Watson Docherty
C:  Judd   Walker  Yarran
HF: Gibbs Henderson McLean
FF: Menzel   Waite    Garlett
R Kruezer  Thomas  Murphy

INT Warnock Carrazzo Armfield Robinson

Scotland misses out for mine, if he does play on next year its to be in a development role mentoring Docherty, Graham, Cachia, Bell and Lucas

Casboult out, Watson in to step up and take CHB for his own next year, Hendo forward which is win win.

Walker to play in the guts week in, week out.

Two negative players each week in Carrazzo for the bigger mids like Pendles, Swan, Jobe, JPK types, and Army for the likes of K. Jack, Ablett, Rioli, L Thomas. So Army plays forward/back/mid at Different stages.

Thorp is one to consider with our pick 31 or 32 whichever it may be. If we can draft Rowe with pick 44? we can make a strong case for Thorp with our second rounder, eventhough he has played in a crap league this year he won em a flag on his merry lonesome, worth the risk.

Shaun McKernan as depth? Back-up Ruck/Fwd.

Lucas, Bell, Graham, Cachia, Curnow, Scotland, Buckley, Ellard and draftees as mid depth

As it stands Cas and Rowe are our only ruck/fwd back up which is extremely alarming in my eyes, should get another project from the state leagues. Could do much worse than McKernan and Thorp to replace Paddy Mac and Mitchell. Rookie Mitchell i reckon.

Duigan, Bootsma, Temay, White, possibly Laidler as well.

So, 7 spots to fill and i'm going to have a crack at it.

National Draft

#13 Marcus Bontempelli
#33 Mitch Thorp
#51 Dayle Garlett
#69 Trent Dumont

3 spots to fill. I'd like to rookie Luke Mitchell again , but i just haven't seen enough of him in the NB's.

Shaun McKernan to take 1 rookie spot, , i'd like a state league or mature aged ruckman, 18 to 21 years of age, and i'd like another KPP/swingman like Cam Delaney, Joel Tippet, Matthew Westhoff or something similar.

Be gentle people.  :D

Marcus Bontempelli, pretty sure the pies will take him with 6. Have heard he reason they have looked to upgrade their pick is all about him.

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: ELIMINATION FINAL : Blues V Tigers (Pre-Game Patter)
So whereabouts have people gotten their seats for the game (as in bay number)? Reason I ask is that I've got a couple of mates thinking of getting some eBay tickets, but don't wanna be purchasing seats right in the middle of a Richmond bay stronghold, so if I can gauge where Carlton members have been allocated seats, it'll help me be able to pinpoint a bay where there's at least a few Carlton supporters for them to be sitting near.....thanks people!!!

Apparently more tickets will be made available on Thursday from unused club allocations. Yesterday 12,000 Carlton members purchased tickets compared to 26,000 Richmond fans. They will outnumber us 2-1 on Sunday.
Bring it!

I am going but in the MCC, yet I am a club member. So my ticket would not be counted amongst the 12,000. These numbers are never a true reflection.

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: Rd 23: Post Game Party? Blues come home in the last!
I don't know whether to laugh or cry, the first three quarters were embarrassing, the last quarter was inspiring.

A number of players showed that they clearly are not up to it and will certainly face the axe at the end of the year whilst a couple of them may have done enough to save their career at the Blues.

Spot on. Amazing last qtr... but if we are to win a flag then there must be a reasonable amount of change.

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: Rd23 v Port Adelaide.
So out of all the crap in season 2013 comes opportunity. I had given away this season, after the loss the the dogs. However we are now in a position to take the opportunity handed to us and run with it.

I can think of no greater opportunity for the club to draw a line in the sand, put their heads down and get the job done in Adelaide. We are being tipped against left right and centre, we have injuries and poor form.

STAND UP, it begins here.

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: RD 21 : Blues Torture Tigers (Tiger-Taming Tweets)
Bell was doing a fair bit of grunt work in terms of  spoiling and ball winning in the clinches, which I think we benefited from. He just needs to improve his disposal which lets him down atm. I'm confident that will get some focus as he's very useful to have around the clearances and contested ball situations.

Also let's the opposition know he's there - ask Cotchin.

Cookie...Glad to see you could see what I saw with Tom Bell....his big body is a must for the senior team.

No-one is suggesting he doesn't throw some weight around (hell, its the one facet of his game that I really like) but you have to question his intellect when he tried to clean-up Cotchin and came off second best.

His "intellect" was spot on. He was laying a block for the player who was competing with Cotchin for the ball. As well as us winning the ball he sent a message. Perfect if you ask me and something that not many in the current side would do.

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: RD 18 : Blues Scorch Suns (Post-Siren Sunburn)
Kicked away in the last to make it a big win. GC are still developing, and will be a little "one step forward one step back" for a while. 40 scoring shots to 22 is pretty food going though.

Well done lads.

Considering we had about 6 or 7 non contributors that's not a bad result.
Waite in for Rowe.

Agree but something else will need to change. Who is the relief ruckman once Rowe is gone?

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: RD 16 : Carlton v St Kilda (Pre-game Chatter)
Play Casboult forward. He can either play or not. We need to find out.

Kruezer can ruck most of the game anyway. The whole football world is watching us right now - do wave the white flag or take no prisoners?

Time for us to say Never again do we lose to this mob and have some pride.

This ^^^^

Casboult planted in the square. Watson to CHB. Henderson & Walker the the leading fwds Menzel and Betts Fwd. Yaz and Army of half back. Jeffy / Simpson on the wings. Change it up, run them off their feet.
