I've been through this... This team has been consistently inconsistent for 7 years...  Its inbuilt into them now and needs time to be fixed.. For those who it cant be fixed, need to be moved on.
Mick had enough to work with against Melbourne mate talent wise (Not saying he has against better opponents), but the team didn't turn up mentally. Somehow, I cant see Mick gave them a light week, or told the boys to rest up as this week will be an easy one..  He would have gone out of his way to make sure they weren't complacent.. But guess what, the players get out on the field and think its all going to just happen..
You blame the coach, i blame the players.. That's where we both disagree...
Forget game plan, if Carlton and Melbourne both play to their potential, giving 100% effort,  we win 10/10 games..  Surely you agree to that?

Absolutely I agree with that. The buck stops with the coach. IMO. Just like the buck stopped with Ratts on that fateful night at Metricon.

Ratts had 5 years with this bunch after Pagan had 4 or so years with them.
The buck will stop at Mick, when he's had long enough with the list to right the wrongs.. If that time comes and we are still a rabble, I'll over take you at 100mph on the Get rid of mick wagon and my tail will be firmly between my legs with humble pie splashed all over my face.. If he is sacked before that time, I'll put it down to a p1ss weak board bowing to member pressure and I'll be calling for the board to go..

Guys I was being facetious.

Ive seen Levi get him through at post height from 50 (at Preston).

His ball drop is too high which generally leads to an inconsistent kick and a range of miss that can span the width of the entire goals.

The handball idea was simply to appease the ones stating his kicking woeful and have a bit of a laugh.

Im guilty of it too, but I think we need to lighten up a tad.

Thats alright, tell him to take the mark and then handball to a runner!

We are fine so long as he doesnt kick it.

I think most people had the expectation that MM would get us to a final within 2-3 yrs because it's MM.

You know this amazes me. When MM was a the Filth, we marvelled at what he was able to get out of a bunch of spastics to win a flag. He managed to get a very average list to adhere to instructions and give there all. All of a sudden, the game plan is crap, he can't coach, etc etc. I put the blame square on the useless bunch of soft corks that pull the jumper on every week.

Well Roos is doing well with arguably a squad worse than ours. Difference is the players are prepared to work hard and as a unit.

Is it? Or is Roos just a better coach with more innovation and not past his use by date. None of us know.

Fair point, but a coach can only do so much. Say what you want about MM, the game plan the club whoever but the fact is our players aren't prepared to work. they are lazy. people often bag Rowe and white at times which is understandable but they bloody try their guts out. Obviously trying isn't a substitute for their weaknesses but why can't proven players with ability like Gibbs and Garlett work a little harder? We some how up our ante in the last 5 minutes and become a force. Why not for the whole game? Are we intimated, hurt from a little criticism or just plain soft? seems like issues we have discussed for years.
