Anyone who believes in Medicare for all. Only communists believe in that.
Healthcare is not a commodity to be bought and sold by the wealthiest. The further a country heads down the 'user pays' road, the more likely that social division and anarchy will escalate.
The reason this country has a relatively harmonious society is because people get taken care of. Many would argue the care is too generous, but the alternative of a US-style fend-for-yourself system brings a bigger set of problems IMHO.
Without detracting from this person’s appalling behaviour, how do you steal a newish Landcruiser without the keys?
Probably carjacking....? Far less sophisticated, but little knowledge of car electrics required. Based on the history presented, I would suggest this perpetrator has no qualms using this method.
And as for fronting Children's Court, at what stage does the ice get too thin?
Aurangzeb, as a businessman, relied heavily on publicity to compensate for lack of acumen. His business began going down the gurgler when he lost his reality TV celebrity status and his decision to run for president was apparently motivated by his need for greater publicity.
Getting back into media would seem to be a necessary next step for his business. Making it a success is another matter
I am wondering how he is going to turn all of his upcoming court appearances into a reality TV Program.
Instead of 'The Apprentice' - how about 'The Defendant'.
This bowling group has shown on several occasions they cannot get the job done on the last day, especially Lyon. Should have won the last two tests, but didn't get close in either on a spinning deck.
yes but how many of them are key position players? Gibson 189cm Stratton 189cm Birchall 193cm
The rest are a similar sized bunch of midgets. We don't need to find the next big thing to help out our defense. We wouldn't want to go in without Liam and Jacob very frequently but hawthorn managed to win 3 flags in a row because they had consistency in their lineup, consistency in how players played roles, and a bit of luck (which all successful teams need) that breakdowns were few and far between. There were quite a few unsung heros in their teams. We have a few players that fit that bill if they could stop breaking down.
The point in making is that without Brian Lake hawthorn were a team of short defenders and we are not.
Defenders' lives are so much easier when they are playing behind a strong and ruthless midfield and forward line who don't let the ball travel down the ground with any speed.
The Hawthorn midfield and half forward line of that era were a dominant bunch who made sure that the ball was more likely to go forward at each stoppage. Once it was in their forward half, Hodge martialled a wall to keep it that way. And if they didn't have the ball, they squeezed super hard until a mistake was forced.
Accordingly, Gibson, Stratton, Birchall et al didn't have to contend with the ball sky-rocketing into their zones with a bunch of one-on-ones. It was far more controlled than that, and easier to group-defend (Gibson's favourite job was third man up...).
Defence is not just about defenders - it's about forwards and midfielders putting pressure on their respective opponents and covering each other's butts. When that doesn't happen, the defenders are faced with an avalanche that is almost impossible to stop. .
I have to admit that a mate came up with this. Until recently, I thought it was a play on words, aurangz = orange, but Aurangzeb was real and was the bloke who led the downfall of the Mughal empire.
In fact, on quick glance at the Aurangzeb story, it seems Donald may have lived a previous life.....
History is never all that kind to polarising characters like Donald Trump - eventually, most of the bad stuff percolates to the surface until someone years later says 'how the hell did they put this guy in charge?'.
I dread to imagine some of the stuff he might have done if he had a second term, and was not facing re-election in 2024 (with no voter backlash to deter him). Hopefully the GOP will make sure he doesn't get a another shot at it.
I suspect that the modern-day Aurangzeb will continue foment trouble until he’s dragged kicking and screaming from the White House.
Surely Pence and the cabinet can see the threat posed by the evil, delusional, psychopathic cry baby and will use the 25th amendment to fark him off. If they don’t, they are just as bad.
AURANGZEB......
You get to learn something new on this site everyday!
Can't help feeling that Aurangzeb may also be an old Hindi word meaning 'Orange One'....
The Orange One and his band of followers have stumbled to a new low today. This guy is a threat not only to the USA, but to democracy everywhere.
Banging on the windows of Congress and demanding your preferred candidate is 'reinstated' regardless of an election result is hardly what anyone could call democratic.
The results of the Georgia Senate election would suggest that many middle-stream Americans are starting to think the same way. The GOP better get a handle on this sooner rather than later or Donald will send them into purgatory for many years.
EB to my surprise, he conceded very few goals. From the article: Champion Data stats show that Petrevski-Seton conceded less than a goal a game to his direct opponent this year, including having no goals conceded between Rounds 11 and 17.
I can remember him giving up two goals against WCE, but then again, they were probably the two biggest umpiring howlers of 2020!
The Trump House of Cards is waving in the breeze.....one decent gust and it's all over.
What is pathetic is the Republicans who sit there saying nothing about this farce in case they lose their own supporter base.
In the fullness of time, when there is no longer the possibility of recriminations, I think we will find out that the Trump 2020 campaign and subsequent legal challenges will be shown to have been the greatest con of all time perpetrated on the American public. I wonder how the 74 million who voted for him will feel then? And how could anyone possibly ever believe a word he (or Rudy) says ever again?
There is some value for the drug companies to go the early crow, but if they do, and it ends up going pear-shaped, they may miss the vaccine bus all together as they try to re-prove their product.
There are supposedly 100+ formulations in the pipeline, and someone(s) is going to make a s***load of money out of this.
Of note, CSL have yesterday commenced full-scale production of the Oxford/AstraZeneca formulation, with the University of Queensland formula not far behind. The idea is they will ramp up production and have product manufactured early in 2021, with the (expected) outcome that one or both of the vaccines is effective. If a vaccine doesn't work, or isn't safe, it the product will be poured down the sink. A gamble, but one which will put us 3-6 months ahead of the usual process.
Assuming the Oxford or UofQ vaccine gets the thumbs up, we will be lucky enough to have doses ready by Feb-Mar. Probably frontline workers first, followed by vulnerable populations.
Perhaps we could run a sweep on when the POTUS will concede defeat.
I'm going for never
I would sincerely love to be a fly on the wall when someone (who will no doubt be clutching a short straw...) sits down with Donald and tries to explain that it's time to pull the pin.
