hes a better player than Ed Curnow I reckon and Jaksch is a better player than Jones.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion and, 3 months ago, I would have agreed with you regarding Jaksch and Jones. However, Jaksch has struggled to provide consistent effort while Jones, to my surprise, has shown that he is a competent AFL forward. As for Curnow and Graham, Ed would be among the first ten players selected each week and Graham would come into consideration at around the 23rd player selected.
The fact that Charlie has commenced light training suggests that he was at the milder end of the scale - but that's just speculation of course.
Perhaps he was hospitalised because he is an AFL footballer and it was the best path to a speedy recovery - but, again, that's speculation.
My son's specialist was very strict about not resuming contact training before time but he did recovery very quickly and had no long term issues. As I mentioned before, my weightlifting buddy was laid low for 12 months, as was my next door neighbour. In both cases, they contracted glandular fever in their 30s and that may be a factor.
I can't shed light on your questions - perhaps ask Dr Google
You only retire at such an age in such a sport when no one actually wants you.
My ex work mate at kmart was offered to be fired or quit.
To this day he will tell everyone he quit.
We all know he was fired.
It might be conspiracy theory, but chip le grande showed us his unbiased best going into bat for the bumbers drug program and most of these media people have no credibility left on the back of it.
What's Chip Le Grande got to do with the price of fish?
Chip Kelly is the 49ers coach and, as I said previously, I reckon he knows a tad more about NFL than most armchair experts.
Last chance for voting approaching! I've updated the spreadsheet, but I won't lock the thread yet. I'll probably update things on Saturday morning: knee surgery tomorrow, so I probably won't be functioning like normal.
Perhaps Chip was telling porky's. Wouldn't be the first time a senior coach has told a little white lie.
Sometimes the simplest explanation is the right one. Hayne was told he was not required....or at least would be nothing more than a backup to a backup at best.
Lets put it this way, if Hayne doesn't get on the fiji squad there is absolutely nothing stopping him from going back to the NFL and trying again. NFL teams dont have set lists like we do here and teams can add players throughout the season.
Hell, Rio olympics is run in August, the NFL regular season doesn't start until September, he can do both! Betya he won't though.
That's not the simplest explanation Kruddler, it's a conspiracy theory
Hayne is still tied to the 49ers. If he was to go back it would have to be to the 49ers unless they released him.
There is no way C.Curnow will be back within two months let alone two weeks. I'm not sure of the current thinking but years ago it was thought the worse thing a GF sufferer can do is over-exert themselves during recuperation. It can set them up for years of relapses. Gentle exercise used to be the call, long walks, gentle bike rides, aqua-aerobics, etc., etc..
Another bollocks LP
My son was back playing Vic Championship basketball within 6 weeks. He was under the care of a specialist who carefully monitored his recovery and gave him the all clear to train at full pace after 5 weeks.
Charlie Curnow is already doing light training so I'd expect him to start playing a quarter or two in the NBs within 4 or 5 weeks - provided there are no setbacks with his recovery.
It can be a bit of a lottery. One of my weightlifting buddies was out of action for 12 months!
Its ridiculous to even be discussing Finals. We re so far from a top 8 side its not funny. We re still to play North, Cats, Hawks, and Giants and Swans away. We re bound to cope hidings in most of these games.
If Port had won, they would be in the 8 - but you're right, we're a middle of the ladder team at best.
Chip is simply trying to save face saying the 49ers didn't push Hayne out the door, he was much loved by the fans and if they find out otherwise ll hell will break loose.
Good try Kruddler but Chip has well and truly shot your version down in flames. I could be wrong but I suspect that he knows just a tad more about the NFL than you do so I'll happily accept what he has to say on the matter
Chip Kelly apparently has a different view to Kruddler - but then, so do most folk

SAN Francisco 49ers coach Chip Kelly says he was surprised by Jarryd Hayne’s announcement he was retiring from the NFL to play rugby sevens for Fiji at the Olympics. Kelly also doused speculation the 49ers were planning to cut Hayne, which led to the Australian making a face-saving exit. The 49ers instead were bullish on Hayne, praising his ability to pick up Kelly’s new offence and excited about using his powerful, 188cm body and skills.
“He’s a really sharp learner,” Kelly told reporters on Tuesday at the 49ers’ Santa Clara facility.
“We were excited. He’s a big body and has a skill set.”
Hayne and the 49ers announced on Sunday that Hayne had made the decision to quit the NFL to pursue his dream of winning a gold medal at the Olympics.
Kelly said he didn’t speak to Hayne about possibly returning to the 49ers after his Olympics stint, although the team holds his rights.
Interesting how Hayne can represent Fiji without ever holding a Fijian passport. Apparently, there's also a question mark over Hayne's ability to pass the more stringent drug code in force for the Olympics, but I'm not sure how reliable that story is.
It's interesting that there has been a lot of discussion on our rebuild and the associated need to get a solid defence into place on which we could then build. This has started in a very promising way with Weitering and Plowman coming in and together with Sam Rowe currently identified as an important member. Jamo remember has been really struggling
I'm a bit puzzled therefore that we now want to start unraveling and unsettling it by moving Sam elsewhere at the first sight of injuries. As Murph said today, we are currently more concerned with building for the future and playing to and perfecting our system? Surely a major disruption such as this to our defence to cover injuries elsewhere would run counter to that objective?
We need to try and cover our injuries first and foremost from whatever depth we have available in those areas not rob areas where we seem to have established something promising. Sam's exploits at his previous clubs I say are not that important to us atm as we really need him to continue in the role he is currently performing for us. The need we had for him to move on Sun was an emergency one-off rather than something we necessarily want to do on an on going basis.
Bolton is very strong on players being able to play more than one role and I suspect that using Rowe to cover for Casboult could be more than just an in-game move. The fact that it worked so well will have Bolton thinking seriously about it for the next few weeks, particularly with Kreuzer and Casboult out.
While I would prefer to see Rowe in defence, he may find the North forwards a little too agile and could be better value as a key forward and back-up ruckman. We certainly don't have players in the NBs demanding a game as a key forward, key defender and/or ruckman.
