Ladies Lounge / Re: 2019 AFLW Preliminary Final: Carlton vs Fremantle

Can be....
There isn't a hard and fast rule as to where it will/should be held.

If Adelaide beat Geelong, you are essentially having 1st vs 1st...so who deserves the home ground?

If Geelong beat Adelaide, then its pretty clear we deserve home ground as we finished above them. So Ikon it would be.

AFL has a tough call on their hands.

Watching the game and have missed each of our first 4 goals when i vhanged channels to check the Melbourne game.

f*** the melbourne game.  :P

But maybe check back often in the 2nd half. ;)

Edit: ACtually, you need kayo sports, it has split screen of up to 4 screens at once. As well as PIP. ;)
Was very handy during the F1. I had the normal screen, the timing screen and an individual driver screen. Was awesome!

I too see shortcomings in Bolton's unwillingness to 'stop' certain opposition players....

Ed C. and Kennedy the most likely but if you stop certain players having a real, ongoing influence, you can effectively stop the opposition....

Jones on Westhof?

As for ed Curnow as a forward? why?

I'm starting to think that we are trying to find roles for players we have, rather than find players for the roles we have.

That is, if Ed is no longer needed in the midfield, perhaps he's no longer needed at all. Perhaps we can find a HFF who is better than Curnow in the same position.

I saw that and a seperate one where there was a picture of Eddie Maguire who was talking on TV and a tigers supporter was mooning in the background.

They're all class.

Well done Fly, you got one right ????????????

“The last 4 clashes with the Tigers...

1. We would have 1 or 2 poor quarters.
2. We get overrun in the last quarter (young blokes getting tired).

Will the trend stop tonight?”

I think that can pretty much be said about any of our games over the past however many years, unfortunately.

Ladies Lounge / 3 blues make the AA team! + other awards

Brianna Davey, Kerryn Harrington, Gab Pound and Madison Prespakis were all named by the AFL last night as being in the squad of 40.

The team of 21 players, including a captain and vice-captain, will be announced at the W awards on Tuesday 2 April.

Well done to the girls.

I'm especially pleased that Gab Pound made the squad as i think her contributions are largely overlooked. She has been solid since game 1, season 1. Her game has gone up a notch this year, but still goes unrecognised most weeks. Not sure she'll make the team, but good luck to her and all the girls.

You're kidding if you think Polson would have made the difference. We had many, many passengers.

Fas wasn't the only bloke who looked like he hadn't played for 5 years and looked completely at sea. Newman, E Curnow, Simpson, Murphy, Thomas and Cripps kept us in it. Nice Cameos from a few and about a dozen were non-hackers.
Playing Polson wouldn't have won us the game. But playing him wouldn't have hurt.......like playing fas did. Every man and his dog knew Fas was rusty. Play him in the 2's to get rid of the rust.

Ed did his best to sabotage the game.

Entries inside 50 were pathetic.

Totally disagree 24 possessions in a return match,  hard at it, rusty at time. I thought he was most impressive. We all see rhings differently!!

I know he's impressive.

What i said was that he struggled to make an impact.

Yes 24 touches is good, but as i just got through saying Ed Curnow had 25 touches. Did he have a good game?

IMO a lot of Setterfields touches were very vanilla. I guess my expectations on him were higher as most of his efforts had little impact on the game.

But i do like the kid, got him in my supercoach. ;)

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: 2019 AFL Rd 1: Carlton vs Richmond at the MCG: In Game Angst
I know, it's garbage.

Soon as Richmond got the ball from a scrimmage in defence their players run forward in numbers setting up a mark in F50. Why don't we do that when we have it. We have had 4 F years!!!

Which is why i was saying we need a player like Polson in the team. Someone who almost gets enjoyment out of pressuring, chasing tackling the opposition.
Compared to our 2 FPs (Fas and Gibbons) who have been a non event.

As i said in the pre-match, no point having 2 dedicated FPs if you can't get the ball down there or keep it there when you do.
