Robert Heatley Stand / Re: AFL Rd 22 202 Post Game Prognostications Carlton vs Gold Coast
‘Umpires had an ordinary night, but a couple stick out to me:  Williams kicked a sky ball from defence (3rd qtr) that bounced 5 metres from two players before going out - paid Insufficient attempt.  Not sure who kicked a terrible scrubber in the last that went out by our 50m, not a player within sight - throw in - couldn't work it out.’

This made me yell at the tv. The GC players were both there but came to a stop not bothering to keep the ball in. Deliberate 🙄 how on earth does a kick going off the side of your boot that oppo players could get if they didn’t stop, constitute deliberate.

Umpiring was absolutely shocking

The kicker for the rubbish commentating is we have to pay to hear it on Saturdays 🙄 as previously said the 2x Reiwoldts are shockers - although Nick much much worse than Jack. Pushing his own barrow. Used to like him but came to the conclusion he’s a complete flog - I loved when Ratts called him out about only being around the club (at Stk) for the free physio. Anyway, it’s painful listening to any commentary when our season is dead.

No one is suggesting Frank is our saviour now but good on him to come back and consistently improve each game! And it seems he has some footy IQ! Which is really novel for us tbh.

Thought the umpiring was putrid and sure the free kick stat seems even but again where it’s paid around the ground is what is important. Anyway.

Also really good Acres played a good game,
Say what you like but you can’t question his bravery and commitment once on the ground. Ollie too, although both could improve their disposal.

All in all I felt really proud of them 💪🏼

Fogs….
Fogs…. Fogs….

Used to feel so confident when he had it, actually shut my eyes when he went for that last kick and… sure enough, let us down. Soul destroying.

We had no business being in that, none!  So
Proud of that effort - some
Senior players stuffed up at important times but I acknowledge they have a bigger workload atm.

Just love Lord, something about him. Cowan is the best, loving him too. I really want Frankie, Billy, HOK, Flynn, White and Carroll to succeed.

I bloody loved Acres this game.

Umpiring v biased -
Lots of holds to them, zero to us. load of BS.

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: AFL Rd 22 2025 In Game Angst Carlton vs Gold Coast
What a shame, I would’ve liked seeing that absolute highest order dickhead  Hardwick explain that loss! Not to be.

Very proud of their fight! Good on some
Of the young kids, good on them. They will be better for it.

Umpiring sub standard, along with TDK until the last quarter. And Fogs 🙄 and Jesse at times,

Anyway a good fight out, no shame in that loss.

If on the other hand he wants to be a one club player that's fine too...but the next couple of years will likely be tough ones.
Maybe playing without the burden of captaincy would be a good idea.
He's one player we do owe.

I feel for Crippa. There's little doubt he is one terrific person. Even once it was obvious we wouldn't make finals, he still gave/gives his all - testament to the quality of the guy. One of his best mates retires (Doc) and another close friend and mentor (Voss) is under the pump. A disappointment and difficulty ridden rear.

But I doubt (hope!) we don't go rebuild. Change is needed and will happen. And things can change pretty quickly in this caper so I wouldn't be assuming a difficult couple of years ahead.
I agree totally.

We have a multitude of good players due back from injury - sure we might be losing TDK and JSOS but we get back

Newman
Walsh
A healthy curnow
Hopefully a healthy Elijah (if he’s still with us surely they means he wants to be)
Jagga
Kemp
Cotters
A more experienced Cowan and Hollands next year
Lord has improved each week
I do actually think Jesse will come good with us, he does some great things, he’s only young and slight, he’ll be better next year.

Bring in some good hardened players and who knows.

I’d be stoked if Cripps stayed - of course if he needs to go home then that's it - but I just love the guy, more than any other player before him
Tbh. Seems to be down to earth, loyal to his teammates and coach, the guy is a superstar but doesn’t act like an arrogant entitled brat. Already an all time Carlton great.

Hope we do all we can to get that premiership cup for him!
