Ever since I started watching AFL I thought the game, which at times is a great spectacle, was over umpired. I know that there are long established traditions but I think that a deep review to significantly lessen umpire involvement and intervention could be very beneficial for the game. I’ll probably get crucified now by the traditionalists! 🤪

Yep. The team’s execution just has a totally different feel to it, obviously for the better. Players seem to have very different attitudes and are playing with more fluency and freedom. Very noticeable.

The bad news is that there’s been an increase in knife crime involving youngsters 🙁
What’s the overall trend in “wounding crime “ with any kind of sharp weapon? I would be looking at banning the carrying of anything that could be used as a dangerous weapon in public. Careful definition would of course be necessary eg the carrying of tools etc would need to be accommodated.
