Yep,  we are all shattered at how the Blues are performing this year, but no point in mass depression or hysteria!
Hopefully Voss & Co will use the rest of season 2025 to get games into the young talent waiting for their chance, incl. Ben Campo., O'Farrell, Moir, Flynn Young etc

Ab

No chance, Voss is coaching for his career.

Pathetic !!

Makes me embarrassed to admit I follow the Blues now.

From the admin to the coaches to the players, we are a goddam rabble and there is no sugarcoating it anymore.

Apart from Silvagni, all of those uncontracted at season's end have to go.

Time to play Lemmey, Wilson, Moir etc for the rest of the season to see if they have anything to offer, otherwise, they are being shown the door too.

Trade out the big names (keep Weitering though) and go back to the drawing board.

Graham Wright ............. you have a huge job ahead of you but I have some genuine faith in what you are capable of and will support whatever you decide is the right thing to do.

I generally agree. Leaving aside the obvious issue of not having insider knowledge of several key areas regarding the players, believing that Curnow or any other player is a slack ar$e with a highlight reel and no 2nd efforts, essentially condemns a raft of senor coaches, assistant coaches, team mates, and the like to charges of gross incompetence of professional malfeasance.

Curnow is a serial offender in this area, as soon as the bal lhits the deck he stops and lets the opposition defenders cler it without any fear of being accosted.

Players know when they can impact contests and are drilled to take the safest option if they can’t.  Gout Gout would have struggled to have an impact in both of those incidents.

An impossible chase may look good to fans but it won’t win games of footy.

No, nada, zilch ........... not buying that cop-out excuse, our players are lazy and it shows.

Just letting the opposition do what they like when they like is a defeatist atitude especially when the ball was well within a reasonable space for them to challenge.

Nothing funny about it all Lods, its central to our issues it drives me to despair. A good mate mine tells me AdNauseam, we have some of the dumbest players in the comp, I try and defend them but I think he's right.

Not only are our players dumb, but they are lazy & conditional too.

I saw two glaring examples of this on Sunday night.

White had the ball on the far side of the ground, ran around in a circular manner and tried to kick across the body but it got smothered by a Bombres player. The ballwas on the ground with the opposition about to pick it up and instead of knowing he'd made a huge blunder and tried to rectify it by running over an tackling or applying pressure, he just jogged on the spot and let them clear the ball easily instead of running in and tackling or bumping.

The ball spilled over the back of a marking contest just in front of the goalsquare, an Essendon player was paddling the ball around near to the point line, even though Curnow had just had his marking attempt spoilt, he also jogged on the spot and allowed the Essendon player to clear the ball without any pressure or challenge instead of running in and tackling or bumping.

Both of these incidents were utterly sh1tful and tell me everything I need to know about our players.

Can you imagine the Pies players doing the same thing ?? I highly doubt it !!

Thing is, you can't teach that, the player either has the depserate will to win in his belly or he doesn't, we have too many who don't and it's why the opposition teams know we are always gettable.

To be honest, I can't see us winning a premiership while I live. I'm 64.
There isn't the desire. There isn't the skill. There isn't the game plan.
Our list isn't one that is going to challenge.
We don't stop the oppositions' better players; we play them into form.

We are irrelevant. I never thought I'd be writing that, but it is accurate at the moment.

We're much better than we were not that long ago, but we've managed to get into the pack in the middle. That looks like as far as we'll get in this cycle. We need to learn and move on or we'll spend another cycle ending up nowhere.

Only 64 .......... got you covered there young fella.  O:-)

Thing is, we may be old coots but between us, we have seen 8 flags in our lifetime, and the one thing we always saw with those premierships was as you so correctly pointed out, there was "desire".

We took no sh1t from anybody and all of our players played every game like their life depended on it. Not these days, they galavant around safe in the knowledge that they are going to be extremely well paid regardless of the result.

Unless the club is given a clean-out via a "culture enema", we will firmly become the new St. Kilda, content to accept mediocrity.

1995 ......... I had just moved to Sydney, it is a very long time ago now.

Got home too late to watch the game live, may not bother watching it on Kayo now.

White, Carroll, Binns, Young, McGovern & Curnow - zero tackles between them.

McKay went goal-less.

First gamer O'Farrell had 9 disposals as did Motlop & Acres, however, he had more than Young, Durdin & Binns did.

Looks like we had some complete passengers & others who just didn't apply themselves enough.

We have the bye next week (based on current form, we may still lose this one) but the next three after that are Essendon, West Coast & North Melbourne which we would be expected to win.

Thing is, it's all well & good to dine out on the cellar dwellers, its taking wins from teams like GWS who are genuinely in the hunt that truly counts.

I've said it before but I'll say it again, most of this current group of players are frauds and will never take us anywhere. We are at absolute best, a mid-table team who will be of occassional nuisance value but nothing more.

Swing the bloody axe at season's end, I've had enough of this crape.

A seven-goal haul from Carlton youngster Harry Lemmey proved to be the difference as the Blues won by 30 points.

Veteran Sam Docherty continued to stake his claims for a senior recall after gathering 39 touches and six marks.

Mid-Season Draft fancy Liam McMahon slotted another four majors, while Alex Cincotta returned from a hip injury.

Docherty will come straight in now even though most Blues watchers agree his best days are behind him.

Lemmey has a blinder but that is all you will see on his resume, would the selectors be gutsy enough to give him a senior game ??

Cincotta needs more than one VFL game to show he has fully recovered from his injury plus his fitness level is up where it needs to be. Chances are, they will rush him back in desperation though.

Insipid s0ftcocks, a complete & utter embarassment.

Totally disrespectful to the passing of Wallsy, a disgraceful effort really.

As I said weeks ago, season over, we are 9th or 10th at absolute best.

And can someone ring the Match Committee and ask them why Evans keeps getting a game ??

Motlop, Durdin, White & Evans are inept and passengers, get rid of them, not only out of the team, but out of the club.

And take McGovern with them too !!

Curnow plays in small patches, it's all about him now, he should be known as Mr. Brainfade after that pathetic "play-on' from a setshot close to goal.

Just in case you weren't aware, I've had a gutful of this mob !!
