Hope Mimi's knee isn't too bad
Indeed.. Hoping that her ability to jog off is a good sign.
Duursma on the other hand. I expect has a #clavicle.
Speedy recovery

Bucky has shown that he's not afraid to throw the team around ..............Yes, I think he is a good coach.
He is not just formulaic and he is developing game tactics that suit the list, it makes a huge difference when you use players to the best of their ability.
Good coaches develop genuine tactics that suit a list, sh1t coaches copy a formula with load of fake ingredients.
Couldn't agree more.
Combined with a young group building cohesion through challenge, and here you are! They're all pulling in the same direction by using their individual strengths. Well done👏🏼

They're spending has to be legitimate...for the moment. They can forget about keeping NWM after his 2 years. Ross is throwing a Hail Mary trying to buy a premiership before he hands over to Boris.
They've essentially got a neon sign and flashing lights saying "Check our Salary Cap, we're spending some outrageous amounts"
While it may be right for the present, as DJC says it will be a challenge in the future.
Good luck signing NWM at the end of his current contract.
Their planning seems to be based on a flag in a year or two...or bust.
Which is kind of the opposite to the "sustained success that SOS preached while he was with us.
That's what Ross would be after before he walks away...that elusive "Premiership coach" tag.
Looks like that to me as well. Not that I'd have any real idea. Nor do I give a toss about Mr sleezy 🤢

How come 17 other teams don't have the same war chest?
Good question! The TPP rules don’t allow clubs to bank enough savings to cover the largesse SOS is piling on Nas, TDK and whoever else he fancies. Front- and back-loaded contracts won’t do it either.
There will have to be significant cost cutting, or an AFL blind eye, if St Kilda’s books are to balance.
Despite the reported dinner where players allegedly agreed to take haircuts, managers will be looking for greener fields.
I'm no mathematician but something doesn't quite add up

Maybe, and just a maybe, our 2025 is Richmond's 2016. We know what happened after that.

Thankyou frostydog!
I wanted to make that suggestion but couldn't remember what year it was. I do recall they came up short. Again and again. Then. Bang. They were unbeatable despite some positional issues.
I'm no spring chicken so I hope you're right.

Dead end game granted. When I look at the experience of each team and the lack of consistency we've experienced, I'm bouyed.
In a season where we've had a variety of on/off field challenges, this game shows we've got something to work with.
It wasn't long ago we were overreliant on a few. Had few pushing for selection. And had games where only a few pushed through tough challenges in games. R1 turned out to be a theme for the season. In turn, piling on more pressure and dispersing it across the club.
Whilst far from ideal, these experiences have a knack of sifting the sh"& from the clay. I'm strangely optimistic we have a silver lining soon to emerge.
As far as our kids have performed under such duress, I think we've had more hits than misses. Nobody expects consistency but the effort and perseverance is undeniable IMO. All 7 (?) debutants plus the kids that got a taste last year are showing what they want to bring. Glimpses of mental toughness. Perhaps. The challenge is there for the taking.
It's been a long time since I've seen a crop of youngsters like this. Instead we've had more misses than hits. Think the likes of Jaksch, Boekhorst, SPS, O'Brien, Marchbank ..... quite a trend of misses. For one reason or another.
Anyways. Well done to Frankie, Motlop, Moir, Carroll, Young, HOK, Wilson, and White. IF they keep putting pressure on the seniors, we'll trend in the right direction.
Go Blues
Encapsulated so many previous perceptions mentioned here, sharply.
Love your work, LN. Same page here. Look out for the Bluebaggers in 2026. We'll be ready to surprise.
Thanks Baggers. Must be said I've had a long time to formulate my views!

Great play of run and carry all the way from half back.
Started by, yep, Frankie, with a clever kick over the top into space. Set that up like no other could.
The more I've seen of Frankie, the more footy smarts I see! Building a nice repertoire is Frankie

Smart kick by Harry to pass it off from 50 to Evans 35m out, albeit on an angle.
Higher % shot even though its a worse angle.
Bang.
Dead-eye Frankie does it again.
Dare I say it. I didn't think that was his one-wood but I'm glad it is.
Well done.
