I think the only thing you can say for sure is that with a different coach, things would be different,
Not necessarily better, not necessarily worse...(some would argue it couldn't be worse)
But different.
A classic example of that was when we made the change from Bolton to Teague.
Players went to different positions.
They were given different roles.
Paddy Dow's possessions went from high teen/ low 20s to single figures.

Only good thing with a new coach is we generally produce our best in their first year when enthusiasm is high. So best have everything in order. Voss, like Ratts, managed to keep it going a bit longer, even if it looked the typical falling away in the first 14 rounds of 2023 before the change at Ed's place.
So sack and hire a new one every year yeah?

Austria was probably the best first 5 or 10 laps of the season, the racing between Norris and Piastri was as good as it gets before the team orders put the kybosh on it.

I felt sorry for Piastri, he suffered a bit from his past with Alpine doing it's best attempt at a trip pitting cars twice to send them out in front of him on fresh tyres while he was trying to close the gap between himself and Norris. In effect F1 politics robbed us of a grandstand finish, but that's F1.

The only thing that was a bit unsavoury was in the late stages Norris started begging the team for help as Piastri was 0.5s per lap faster and closing rapidly. Norris has a big weakness relative to Piastri, Norris burns tyres faster and is nowhere near as neat and tidy around the track.
What continues to amaze me is Piastri's coolness in a crisis. He got pushed off into the grass by Colopinto and barely flinched. Every other driver on the grid would have carried on like a pork chop. He just gathered it and continued. Made a smart ass remark about Alpine continuing to find ways to f#$% him over :)

After 9 or 10 separate attempts, the “wrong bloke” ship has well and truly sailed. Are people seriously believing that if McRae was our coach we would be sitting 13-2 on the ladder?
its really hard to mount any argument to the contrary but IMHO, with fly at our club and vossy st their club, my suspicion is that things would be largely the same.
If you put Verstappen in a mini minor, and me in a Ferrari 488 Pista, Ill beat him.

One thing not being discussed is thast modern footy's extreme running style tactic has a significant impact when teams have a short break. We went from playing to the death against Norp to being run over by Port on an interstate trip just 5 days later.

This week we have 8 days to prepare for the Filth's who have only 6, let's hope WCE front up and push them to the death tonight.
Port also had a 5 day break.

For me I think Jack would be super.  What about a joint Jack and Cerra?

Offer TDK VC.

Maybe Weiters, he’s a great speaker but I can’t help but wonder if he’s looking much more into the future into a career at the top of the AFL. He seems extremely intelligent to me.
The only thing Id be offering TDK is a spot in the twos if (a) his form doesnt improve and (b) if he doesnt tell me this week if he is staying or going.

Nic newman would have been another.

Ollie hollands is showing signs he could make a good leader.

Adam Cerra might he another (he does speak eloquently).

You know a few people come across as many children or not leadership material and then surprise people.

Tex walker
James Sicily.
Max gawn.

Sometimes thrusting people into these roles will make them grow.   I reckon fev may have needed captaincy to kick on and mature back then.  For a club where we were he was dedicated enough.  Bit selfish though.

Still, you just never know.  On paper Murphy was a captain. In practise....

Some who strike
Respectfully Thry, Sicily IMO should not be Haw's captain. He is a petulant man child whose attitude stinks from an outsider looking in. Of course they know better but it wouldnt surprise me if a change is made with him. As for the others, your point is spot on.

Weitering, make the change this preseason. Hewett/SOS as his VCs. Reward form and leadership.
Curnow cant string two effective words together and his current on field performances barely warrant him a game IMO (playing on reputation ATM).
Harry is not leadership material onfield, off field his professionalism and diligence in making himself better sure.
TDK will be a StK.

He's the best coach we have had in a very long time. The smart arses here will say that's not hard but give him better players and watch the change.
Our club is a coach killer. We need to analyse the cause of this and address it before we look at getting any more lambs in for the slaughter. I’m sick of it and embarrassed.

100% agree. On a high level:
- They value their past more than they value the future.
- They have overrated their lists for years (decades)
- There is an culture that when it gets too hard, players switch off and dont try knowing the club will make the change of coach.
- My recent favourite "We are financially thriving and spiritually bankrupt".
