All quiet on the Northern Front? Not for long.
Good goal to start, but the goal we conceded straight after came too easily
Nice contested one grab mark by Casboult 70 out and then hits Thomas in the pocket, who marks and goals. Good work again.
Okay so it is 10 minutes in and Casboult have been fantastic so far.
:o ;D :P
Great goals from youngsters Samo and Charlie. Good start.
We are on
Charlie Curnow on track for Rising Star!!!
Nice bonding goal to Blues brothers. :-*
Sensational pressure boys
Can't get over how much our skills have improved.
1:1 to 4:4.
Solid start. Boys have come to play.
Go Blues
Excellent effort Blues, the Sun just can't get out so far. :)
Good quarter.
It's a little slippery, which suits us.
I tell you what, it is only a quarter of football and we are missing some cleaner entries at times, but that quarter was a hiding. If we were 10 goals up right now that would not misrepresent the gap.
The backs just link up so well.
Curnofides
It can be a cruel game at time. Suns better for about 3 minutes and managed 2 goals. Good steadying goal, good composure and vision by Gibbs
Holding the ball jeesus.
Well done Daisy.
Daisy wants a new contract....
Only Dangerfield is quicker than Saad so that should slow him down.
Playing with full intent.
Bit tougher in the second but we still went well giving them very little. Keep it up boys, great defence!
We've tightened the game up and made them play on our terms, keep up the pressure and we'll win it.
Daisy's taking marks, kicking goals and laying blokes out - is there anything he can't do?
Boekhorst has justified his selection so far, Docherty All Australian surely.
And the Boys have missed some dead set sitters, sb 8 goals up at the half >:( >:(
In many respects we're slowly getting a Hawthorn look (not the Hawks 2017 version).
Just had a mate SMS me and say he loves how your team doesn't take any sh1t.
Been a very long time since we were spoken about like that!
Minus Buddy, Gunston, Rioli and Roughy. ;)
For a young side we don't mind targeting opposition players and muscling the opposition about.
They'd be useful...lol. Our bloke are still young and developing. Maybe we can revisit that in 2-3 years.
Daisy been great tonight. kudos.
I always knew that crap mo was holding him back!
Gee our defense is synergistic. Docherty AA. Weiters more involved.
I agree Charlie's efforts tonight are outstanding. If he can hold a couple of his marks, he may well be in NRS contention.
Levi and Gibbs tougher at it. Levi ok in ruck too, and Kruez holding his own. Daisy looks like he's turned the clock back.
BB done a couple of nice things. Needs to adjust to the speed though.
Go new Blues
Yep - we have dominated and should have put them away.. hopefully it doesnt come back to bite us.
Casboult shocking.
If cas wants more money, send him packing.
Ditto..... great grab misses goal then that turnover. .... grrrrrrr
We're gone.
That last poor kick seems to have been a turning point. C'mon boys don't drop the bundle!
Fu8king Casboult
We've let these posers back in >:(
Well done Levi, how to change the momentum of a game in 2 easy lessons. You f&^kwit
Tom Lynch just took his first mark.
We are shell shocked. Badly need a steadier!
Over to you Bolton, show us what plab B is?
Wowee Levi. Where's Flyboy?
The Levi trainwreck rolls on
Need to bring intensity of q1 to take this home.
Go Blues
It's stand up time. Make the choice. Capitulate and use all the cliche excuses you can muster or farkn stand up like men and dictate your destiny.
Make the choice.
Levi's game tonight would be terrific if it wasn't for his kicking. Marks great, used his body well smashing pack then missed a couple of goals. It was more the turnover that was frustrating though as was the shot from 35m in front. He was never getting the other two given where he was positioned although would've liked something better than a shank.
We took our foot off the gas and dropped our intensity that qtr. Something we do too often
I think he is admiring his Levi Casboult posters on his bedroom ceiling.
Must be so deflating to have your main forward so incapable of doing the basics.
Time to bring in McKay
Jack silencing his doubters.
Doing the opposite to Levi. Kicks well under pressure.
Zac Fisher sensational start to this quarter.
He's only missed the one easy goal, it was the turnover that hurt us more than anything.
...and the hard goal he missed everything.....and the everything that could've been stacked next to the everything.
Dribble kick f#@$
Gibbs has been sensational the last month. If he and Murphy could play their best at the same time???
2 first round draft picks...nothing less!!!
He was never kicking it from 55m on the boundary in a fit. Should've just centred it
Ablett still the master.
Damn sad way for Barlow to finish his career.
But he didn't, that's the thing.
He does his best but we really need to cut our losses.
Give it up laj lol.
Levi strikes again!
So does Jack!
The bloke was never kicking it from the 13th row either.
Drops an absolute sitter does Casboult.
alternatively...
Silvagni, again, dominating under pressure.
Dribble kicks why?
TIme for another Casboult shank out of a pack.
Docherty sensational.
What a game by Gibbs? Star! Massive/Spanner?
Come on!!! Bring on the Tiges.
Docherty great, Gibbs BOG by a country mile.
Whoooo!
Should've had 50 touches and 4 goals! ;)
Liam "Return of the Beast" Jones
Well he towelled up someone who is supposedly in AA form, so why not.
Out Casboult
In McKay
?
fk you casboult
wanna wait until the end of the year for your contract?
Nearly cost us the game
13 touches, 8 marks, alot of terrific contests. No need to give it up. Alot of very good work around the ground.
Too many complete idiots look at the bad things, which there was a few, conveniently forgetting anything else as it suits too many fools agendas.
Gibbs 208 supercoach points.
Well unfortunately a graphic illustration tonight of our major deficiency.
Curious, who played worse than Casboult tonight?
Gold Coast wished he got more of it.
I was thinking of picking him up this week.
Ended up picking S. Selwood (did his hammy)
and
Mick Barlow (broke his leg)
Ouch.
You have to take the bad and weigh it up with the good, and tonight he was in the red.
His dropped chest mark was something I haven't seen at Carlton since the Prendergast days.
But anyway, regardless of the massive momentum shift courtesy of Levi the boys dug deep, Gibbs and Docherty were superb and Kreuzer's last quarter was enormous.
A very good win on the road.
I should've added, wearing navy blue. But pay that.
Casboult had some bad moments but gee he was important early. Big presence clunking grabs and splitting packs around the ground.
You little ripper
BB the new little master.
Yes mate, a game that really showed how our mental toughness has been improved. We just got back up off the floor and refused to lose! Very good signs indeed.
Finish up in here and move the discussion to the Post match thread and we'll lock this one up.
