Good to have a win first up, especially against the old enemy.
Lets have the votes.
For the womens, we go with a 3,2,1 system. No team voting required.
So have at it. Who was our best 3 players tonight?
OK, i'll guess i'll go first then.
3. Harris - 1st game for navy blues and 1st BOG. Still room for improvement. She took some great grabs, applied plenty of pressure both in the air and on the ground. Kicked a goal.
2. Stevens - I thought she went missing in the 2nd half somewhat, but was in absolutely everything early on. I think it was her play that allowed us to get the winning lead.
1. J. Hosking - The 'other' twin played well on debut after missing last year through injury. Plays like her sister, plenty or hustle and aggression.
Apologies...
Downie - showed plenty of fight. Dropped 1 too many marks which pushed her out of the votes.
Loynes - Played with her usual aggression and was very consistent.
S. Hosking - Solid, but perhaps not quite up to her best.
Audley - 10+ tackles, does the dirty work in tight
KGJ - New role playing in defence, played on Mo Hope and beat her convingly
Pound - Solid in defence as always.
Very tough game to give votes in.
It was...players seemed to drift in and out.
3 Harris
2 Loynes
1 Davey (not her usual dominant self but still a good contributor)
3 Harris
2 Loynes
1 Audley - 11 tackles gets my vote every time
HM - aside from a couple of girls who were quiet, a fair spread of contributors.
Davey
Jess and Sarah
Moody - super q4
Shierlaw
Downie
3. Harris
2. Davey
1. Loynes
Great first half, hopefully we can iron out the fumbles from the second half. Some really good signs though. Harris is a champ and Davey is just a step above everyone.
3. Harris
2. Loynes
1. Audley
[3] Katie Loynes
[2] Danielle Hardiman
[1] Shae Audley
Honourable Mentions:
Breanna Davey
Breann Moody
Gaby Pound
Tayla Harris
Nicola Stevens
Sarah Hosking
Jess Hossking
There were NO 4 quarter players. Harris looks extremely promising.
Team B:
3 Hardiman
2 Stevens
1 S. Hosking
Girls were hyper and both teams ran themselves into the ground very early which had a negative effect on the 2nd half spectacle. I suspect we'll see a correction in the balance between defence and attack in coming weeks.
We'll be better for the run.
3. Harris
2. Loynes
1. Davey
Voting for the Hosking's can be a curly one, the commentators frequently called the wrong name when numbers were obscured despite the tell-tale shoulder strapping Jess wore which should have made the identification unmistakable.
[3] Katie Loynes
[2] Nicola Stevens
[1] Jess Hosking
3. Harris
2. Loynes
1. Stevens
Anyone else wanna put in their votes?
