Here it is, guys, all ready to go. Car'n the Blues!
Levi a late out ouch
Late late out.
Casboult out
Oshea in.
50 to Kruzer , Goal we will take it
That'll do us. Blow the siren!!!
Levi broken finger in warm up according to Fox
Pity as the Pies are one side he's played well against in the recent past.
Goal Mullet, nice build up
Looks like Rowe is forward
Despite the scoreline we are being smashed in all the key stats, if that persists we have a big problem coming.
Kennedy signicant so far.
Didn't Rowe come into the side late this week (after the sides were selected)
They're suggesting the injury to Levi was done in the warm-up...that may not necessarily be the true story. ;)
Our pressure is keeping us in it ATM, tough to keep that up
O’Shea is hack like no other.
No clue at all
Jones very loose , needs to go shoulder to shoulder with Stephenson
Thought that was a pretty good quarter.
Plow made some stupid mistakes.
Samo looking good, Kennedy too.
Come on Blues!
It was the warmup and it was the finger.
Kennedy is too slow, most of his possies are under pressure...SPS been good, OShea woeful.....
Tough to get it out of the back half ATM lack of options going forward
Have the HTB rules changed....?
Geez we have some odd match-ups!
I've no idea what our coaches planned, but I hope it's not what we've got!
Cannot see us having Cripps, Kennedy and SoJ in the midfield long term, just too many slow movers.
Plowman in trouble
Plowman Knee?
Plowman, looks like a big knee. Careless from pies player.
Plow knee, doesnt look good
When you are down it just gets worse
Fisher, Dow, Polson, O'Brien on holiday somewhere?
Oshea needs to lift and make up for the Plowman loss...
All similar shape & size ....need some size on our guys
Monster grab by Charlie
Great attach by Garlett , caused some damage
Interesting listen to Ben Reid pre-game, mentioned Buckley has changed greatly in 2018. Prior to 2018 Reid said Buckley was trying to coach all players to be every other player like coaches like. Sound familiar or similar?
In 2018 Buckley has changed tactic and is now coaching players to their strengths!
Reports Kreuzer in trouble!
Checking on Kruzer in the rooms
Like the way Chuck just smashes anybody who gets in his space when marking. Casboult should take note.
Can't knock the effort, they've at least have a go.
Rowe, all over the place , started back, then forward , now in the ruck. Earning his coin today
Rowe doing double duty as stand in forward and stand in ruck courtesy of Casboult/Kreuzer.
Some people want him delisted! ::)
If only!
Rowe was looking quite good prior to Kreuzer going off, now he has to ruck against Grundy!
Just do not understand why Jones is anchored in D50, he's not been a D50 positive today so why not send him upfield?
I love how we are attacking the man and the footy. This is the benchmark, nothing less.
Attention to detail: Put a tall bloke on the mark when they are shooting for goal.
We don't have any left ;D
....and invite the opposition to run around him.
Charlie Curnow getting cooked by the umpires, several times he's either taken a mark a mark or earned a free kick but he gets nada!
SPS, so good then so bad, no awareness, there is no sauntering around the ground for a Sunday stroll on the MCG!
Great to see Rowe bringing some angry to the F50!
Liking Rowe forward
The whole side is being cooked.... Pies seem immune to HTB.
Bit of fight from the boys. Hope to see the same in the 2nd half.
Huddo said that someone hooked Daisy. Wouldn't mind seeing a few replays of that to see who it was.
Get a feeling players are feeling backs to the wall bring out some angst
thats what i want to see
a bit of khunt
line in the sand schit
All things considered, I was expecting much worse.
Like it, some spirit shown at the end of the quarter and Cripps in there looking after his mates.....
Kennedy did a good job in the second quarter, used it by hand more and adjusted to the pace of the game.
Rowe been good, and Daisy stirring up his old mates.
Need to keep it spiteful and upset the more fancied Pies.....
Too many no impact players. Lamb, Silvagni, Dow, O’Brien, O’Shea, Paulsen, Fisher, Garlett.....yet still 2 kicks in it.
I was impressed with our young fellas during that mallee. None took a backward step and they all flew the flag, well done. I may be mistaken but I thought I saw Charlie cop a smack in the mouth from Adams.
Also thought Weiters was OK on Cox despite the mismatch, Cox is in good form so it will be interesting to see if Weiters can keep it up for the full game!
Not sure why Weiters instead of Jones on Cox!
Yes, this is better than I expected and I can't see us rolling over.
Collingwood are just that bit cleaner with the ball and can put team mates into space more easily but we are certainly having a crack.
Weitering doing very well on Cox has been a big plus but we're still missing a focal point, McKay might have been a better option than O'Shea.
Levi was a broken finger in warm up, Fox showing him in playing gear with the finger broken
Can only lift when you have ability to do so.
He has no idea. Looks like a fool everytime the ball goes near him in any one on one situation.
Don't get why we drafted in Shaw to just keep on persisting with this hack.
O'Shea is able to stand taller players, not sure he and Shaw are apples for apples comparisons.
For me Shaw might be a viable replacement for Plowman if he's out for a period of time!
Let's see what the second half brings
Solid first half.
The injury dog continues to hound us :(
Go blues
For a big bloke Cripps is another marking target that is too easily offloaded in marking contests.
Kruzer off again
Mullett is a hot potato man, he refuses to wear a tackle to allow a team-mate to get clear!
Jason Tutt Mk.II
Spirit and is alive so good to see
Chris Scott said as much when "Stunned" was delisted.
Goal Cripps , Plowman, no ACL but bruising
Charlie unstoppable held still marks & goal
The commentators on AFL Nation reckon we're stiff with HTB decisions.
In general, the way the AFL implement it, it's a rubbish rule!
Clanger by Jones gives them a goal
Pie's heavier bodies starting to have an impact.

No ACL damage to Lachie Plowman. Some bone bruising. Maybe some medial ligament damage.
People wonder why Graham is out, because he hits targets like O'Shea hits targets!
The odds are against us, but we are basically playing for another honourable loss.
Surely you'd have to coach something different given our game situation!
Sorry but wtf do we play O’Shea!
No clue. Cannot contest in the D50 without giving away a free.
Useless.
Kerr or MacKay would have been handy today. Playing OShea is a deadest spud.
Funny, chuck is held all day and the first free paid all day up forward is a shot for the filth.
Yes, the consistency and implementation needs to be a lot better.
Oshea really showing lack of quality today, delist
They are consistent, consistently crap!
oshae is a dumb fking "footballer"
Frees 23 to 10. Enough's, enough maggots.
Dermie stated that the Pies have no player that has played more than 70 minutes game time - we have 7. He's calling for us to play keepings off to conserve energy and take the speed out of the game.
O'Shea should never play seniors again. Total spud.
Too many VFL type footballers on our list.
You have to have a trick to play AFL, O'Shea's trick seems to be staying on a list!
We cannot win by having Jones and Weitering take 10 more marks in D50 for the rest of the game, so why not have one of them float forward!
And convincing the MC to give him a game
Good thing the Pies can't kick straight. They're starting to pull away.
Nice play by Fischer mark to Charlie GOAL
I’ve been pretty disappointed in the effort and lack of gut running from Paddy Dow and Zak Fisher today, both been invisible, as I type, Fish runs it and kicks it in to Charlie ;D
Take Charlie and Cripps out of the team, and gee it's frightful.
The fight being shown today might be the making of some of our younger players
DeGoey thankfully also been quiet.
Kroos rolled his ankle. Done for the day.
We've a whole team full of individuals, even Cripps and Curnow, very few players sacrifice to help a team-mate!
It's a survival mentality.
Our F50, it's almost dysfunctional, no mark no hope, no fight, no tackles, no shepherds, no smothers, no blocks, no harassment, nada! If there is no mark, the Pies just waltz out of our F50 like they are auditioning for the Sound of Music!
Will we ever see another front and square, have we canned having F50 rovers?
If not for some moments of sillyness from a few, I felt we could have been in front at 3qtr time. Loving the effort though. Thats all you can ask, all I want know is not let it blow out in the last. Three serious Injuries to 3 key players in a day would test any side. They have been brave for 3 qtrs.
ive lowered my expectations to sub 30 point losses
its like a win these days
when we actually do win, its like a premiership.
46 points in three quarters on a fine day won't win many games of football, until we get a forward or two from somewhere we'll have to put up with brave losses.
Yet there have been plenty of spilled marks inside our F50, but not a crumb to be seen, it's woeful! We have a small F50, were are the tackles?
We have probably 2 or 3 of the top 5 on the ground, but the story is the Pies wasted opportunities!
That won't help. We need to get the ball into the 50 more quickly and cleanly so the forwards have a shot.
Charlie showing class goal
I really like Hoskin-Elliott. Very classy finisher.
I would like him more in navy Blue PaulP
Free kicks 28-11.
Our lack of rotations is starting to hurt.
Treloar off injured.
Would be interesting to see what we could do with most of our top players on the park
Lamb.
OShea.
Mullet.
Three worse footballers don't exist on the planet, fair dinkum I'm over fifty and I'd kick goals on Lamb.
Buckley would be very unhappy today, Pies only playing when they have to.
Kennedy 13 contested possessions to date - not bad. Cripps 17.
Think Kennedy has been very good
How good is Charlie! The future, when it shows itself, is bright!!
Cripps and Curnow have been unbelievable.
Fought it out well , had to after last week, injuries robbed the contest
We made them work for it while depleted on the bench.
Collingwood hated it against Geelong when they were played in-close and shut down they only kicked 5 goals that day.
Heraldsun headline is Cheapshot Daisy! Lol
Post game is open....move the discussion into that thread and we'll close this one up.
