Will be interesting how this goes, will the confidence gained last week make a difference? Still no Kruze is a worry for him?

Have a look at the footage of Jack mic’d up at training.  The big fella seems to be moving well isn’t holding back with the physical stuff.  I think the club is just being cautious (or tanking  ;) ).

I’m hoping for a solid effort today - it will be sad train trip back to Geetroit otherwise.

In a game like this, where your opponent is streets ahead of you, the skills and talents of the coaching box come into sharp focus.

Why is the roof closed? Lovely day in Melbourne, albeit a touch windy.....but the wind blows through the gates whether the roof is open or not, so thats a non-issue.

Great tackle from the whipping boy Polson to set up that magnificent goal ended by Harry.

Thats the future.

Little teasers again at times eg goal to Harry and lead up, but with the poor lack of players available so tough to string these together. Something we haven't really had a chance all year. So much a year of unknowns

Byrne having no awareness....as usual.
OShea handballing (or kicking) directly to the opposition....as usual.

We can't have this continue.

I'm staggered how Lang gets a game.  Not trying.

Polson just gives you signs at times at he can play. That was terrific. He's been up and down since he began, not on his own there at 19yo before having a decent career.

A couple of decent tackles... Great.   Good effort.   What about the stupid, soft fifty he gave away  and the handball at the blokes feet when under no pressure which cost an easy shot on goal?  Basic, basic stuff he messed up.

What about Simpson missing the 30m target, resulting in a free kick for out on the full?

I know he was playing quite a bit behind the ball going by the bits and pieces. where that was 1st and 3rd qtrs against the wind or much of the game I don't know. I assume he may have been rucking alot seeing we have almost none left. Can't find the stats though so no idea how he actually went.

Age has nothing to do with it.   Stop making basic,  basic skill errors. Good players make a minimum of errors,  our blokes make too many. Your namesake didn't make errors.

And don't call me a plonker just because I have a different opinion you to you.   I'm more than frustrated at supporters becoming comfortable with mediocrity,  blokes going at half rat power, basic skill errors,  brainless footy.  The club needs to become ruthless regarding standards.

Continuing to give blokes games when they continue to duck up,  I just don't get it.

As i said earlier, Simpson made a basic error. Under no pressure. Resulted in a shot on goal. Was not highlighted.

Yet Polson was.

Double standards.

As far as giving kids games, look at the run from Dow we just saw. You think he was doing that earlier in the season? He is starting to feel comfortable at AFL level and is showing what he can do with it now. Give Polson more time and we'll see similar.

When you consider the team he's playing in, Dow is a gun. His in close work and ability to find space in congestion is really something. He would be flying at GWS.

And apart from injuries, I'm not seeing the negativity around Lobbe. Looks more than capable as a ruck man.

Sorry. You're not a plonker. You've just got an absolutely zero idea about how this works. I thought Brett Ratten was hopeless in his first year. I told my mates that this guys got no hope. I then learned that writing off young guys only makes you look like a complete plonker when that guy plays 250 and becomes one of our best ever players. Some people never learned that lesson though.

How bad was Matt Wright's panick handball in the first quarter under no pressure?  Cost us another goal. My 7 year old would have been embarrassed by some of these skill errors by guys who've played 100 plus games.

Agree 100 percent. Same blokes making the same errors.   So what are we going to do about it as a club?   Continue to play these blokes.   Polson has youth and potential upside but Lang,  Wright,  OShea,  Graham.... It's the same crap week in week out.

You don't want to play them.
You don't want to play kids who are still learning the game.
We can't play players who are injured.

So who the hell DO you want to play?

There is nobody left that doesn't fit into one of those categories.

@Prof....

Injury list heading into this game...
 David Cuningham    Hamstring    Season
 Jesse Glass-McCasker    Knee    2 weeks
 Sam Docherty*    Knee    Season
 Zac Fisher    Leg    Season
 Liam Jones    Knee    Season
 Matthew Kreuzer    Heart    Test
 Kym LeBois    Hamstring    4 weeks
 Cillian McDaid    Foot    1 week
 Andrew Phillips    Hamstring    Season
 Lachie Plowman    Knee    Season
 Alex Silvagni    Achilles    Season
 Jacob Weitering    Quad    Test
 Tom Williamson    Back

Add in J. Silvagni who was a late out with injury

14 players.

We are (obviously) playing 22 today.

That makes 36.

That leaves 9 players who are not on either of those 2 lists.
1. Casboult
2. Kerridge
3. Mullett
4. Shaw
5. Schumacher
6. De Koning
7. Macreadie
8. Garlett
9. Kerr

Blokes not up to AFL standard
Kids who have been injured and play a position already taken by kids
Somewhere inbetween the 2 other categories.

So remind me....who exactly should we playing in place of Graham, Polson, Lang and whoever else you have an issue with?

This is the ultimate embarrassment, killing us this qtr with 17. We have a spare and have no idea what to do with him.

Why are we playing O'Shea?

Schumacher or someone would be better surely.

Really....he at least makes me laugh. Better than watching a comedy act.

We seem to love to continue to persist with duds.

Just ask graham, Lang, Pickett, and of course the 5 possession little master polson.

Better get the broom out again SOS or lock in next years spoon as well.

17 v 18 is a non issue when you play GWS - one skilled battle hardened gun is worth 2 kids/hacks.

I can't remember a team being disrespected as clearly as this. This is contempt.

Crikey.  You're a basket case if a delisted player from a poor side is a hero!!!

To everyone writing off a 19 year old because you're a 40 year expert... 15 min mark second quarter. Absolutely brilliant by Polson.

This is really funny.  :-[

There is a lot of talk of Dylan Shiel coming to the Blues perhaps this trade period, well the club has seriously let itself down today if they were looking to impress him and give him a reason to want to make the move....what a disgrace....boo >:(

They were even playing 16 at some stages, playing VFA rules, and they still outscored us 7 goals to 1.

They can get rid of Bolton anytime they feel.

Has any club had a better case to put forth to the AFL for the need of a priority pick?

We get pumped in a handicapped match!

Perhaps we should not ask for an extra pick, we should ask to have 19 on the ground!

Some commentators (King last week iirc) say we should get 2.
It won't happen. We are Carlton. Our pain is evidently their gain >:(
