2 games to go and 2018 will be over, for us anyway.
Taking last week's form as a guide, things do ot look promising.
The Dogs are in a pretty good patch of form and will be be too good for us this week. They play well at Etihad where they can ping the ball around with their quick ball movement and cleaned up finals aspirants the Roos there last week. Our second half against the Dockers was terrible and we need to finish the year well. Can't see it happening though...dogs by 7 goals plus.
They are not a tall side, if we can control the air without being tunnelled every second marking attempt we have a chance, but the Bulldogs are the Olympic tunnellers of the AFL!
Unfortunately their strength is our weakness: the midfield. But IF we can get the ball quickly out of the middle (I may as well wish for Tattslotto, but that is another story), then we have the tall forwards to worry anyone. (Small forwards, not the moment.)
The problem for me last time was we let Bontempelli run around on his own....I know Cripps will get his 30 plus but I'd rather the Bont got 20 and no goals..
I get to watch the game at 5an....Europe time!!!
Indeed. We often allow the opposition's best player to run around on his own, and we ALWAYS suffer when we do. Not sure who should get the job, but SOMEBODY HAS TO!
In-Jacob Weitering, Tom De Koning, Aaron Mullett, Harrison Macreadie, Angus Schumacher
Out-Nick Graham (Injured)
New -Tom De Koning, Angus Schumacher

Ins: anybody who is left.
I'm tipping we will see at least 1 new player in the next couple of games. The 2 players in the 'ins' for this week will probably both get a gig either this week or next.
The give the new kid a run game......maybe Schumacher in for Jack or Marchbank.....TDK the next week.....
Mullett??? No Casboult?......bye bye Levi???
You'd think Graham was done now.
I'm expecting kerridge to come out too.
Don't know how much he's seen of him but....Dermie pushing for De Koning to get a run on AFL 360

Strong Bulldogs team, wonder if Polson might get Caleb Daniel this week...be someone more his own size at least.
That could be a good match because Polson has the pace and the willingness to tackle.
We should see what Lin Jong is doing next year, he's a tidy footballer and wouldn't carry a huge price tag, he'd be a definite upgrade on a few of our marginals like Lamb, Kerridge and Graham.
when you put it that way you make him sound like a labrador.
Making Polson chase/tag Daniel all day is not a silly idea. Daniel is a very damaging player whereas Polson's forward impact has been minor. I don't see a match up for Polson if he plays forward.
Id pay money to see Charlie stand on Morris' head, he's been a mighty warrior for that club but it's our turn.
Umps need to be onto tunnelling this week.
I'm hearing Tom deKoning will make his debut on Sunday
He will :D
Final team
In: Weitering, De Koning, Mullett
Out: Graham (calf), Pickett (omitted), Kerridge (omitted)
Emergencies Harrison Macreadie , Angus Schumacher , Sam Kerridge, Jarrod Pickett
Graham and Kerridge can both play in the midfield, not very well admittedly, and Pickett struggles to get a kick but is quick.
So with those three out we pick Mullett, Weitering and an up and coming ruckman in his first game.
It's a very slow side.
Mullet..... Gees we must hoping for a game with a combined tackle count between the two sides of about forty.
3 smalls out for two talls and a mullet.
SOS is making sure we lose this one to lock away the 1st pick.
That number 1 pick was a lock a long time ago. That said, looking forward to seeing TDK have a run around....I'm guessing still pretty raw but worth a punt and let Harry McKay play as a permanent forward? Polsen has done an amazing job at holding his spot in the team given he's done SFA for most games.
Worth having a look on the website to the video where Bolts announces Tom’s inclusion and what he says after that re the youth.
We'll see if the link works...it is special.

Maybe Polson is following coaching instructions to the letter? "Look son, I want you to go out there and do SFA!" ;)
True Cookie....if so, then the Coach's Trophy (if they still have those) is in the bag!
He kicked an amazingly flukey goal against Hawthorn and in the same game chipped a nice pass to Harry McKay, so far that's all she wrote.
Kerridge is real stiff imo, 29 disposals last week, don’t care about efficiency so much, but got and disposed of it 29 times....Wow, just Wow :o
if Carlton Supporters cant get excited (even just a little bit) over that, time to find another club. Good luck young fella, go make a name for yourself and make your family and us proud.
Congratulations to the "King" as he debuts for the Navy Blue.
Hope he has a game to remember and gets a few touches.
Go new Blues
Yes and no.
Between kerridge and Graham, they both did things to kill our momentum and give it to Freo in the third term.
Seasons well and truly over, Kerridge is not the future, TDK might be, lets have a look at him.
Ok, looking forward to TDK getting 29 as a Ruck Rover then ;)
He certainly won't hesitate launching for marks.
You know what I mean Crazy
I'm amazed he got dropped. But our selections have amazed me for a long time.
I would have played Kerridge without so much as a second thought.
He has no issues getting the ball, the problem is that he can't kick it to blokes on OUR team.
Agree..his disposal early was horrendous along with Graham, both are bananas who need delisting.....the work experience kid should have been dropped too but he must have a Willy Wonka Gold ticket and gets a game regardless of output....
Good to see Mullet back too.......well I guess he can at least hit a target unlike the first two, if he could win a contested ball he would be useful.....
Sam Fisher must be thinking I'm a monty to be playing seniors next year, its banana city on the senior list.....
I know GIC, but what’s a bloke gotta do to keep his spot....unless he’s stamped already, while others have been kissed on the d..k??
We are a bit tall for the side we are playing against but I'm very accept it because it's a really promising kid getting a game. With Harry and Charlie ad "locks" it was the only way he was getting a run. Nothing to lose now. If it was some other tall I'd be screaming.
As Bolts said in the TDK announcement video, it seems the spine of the future (Weitering Marchbank TDK Charlie H) is what they are looking to trial. I'd tell them to just go and have some fun for the last two games and play with some flair.
Nice the see TDK in for his first game, seems impressive from the little I have seem , a shining performance might push Levi just that little bit further out. Levi contracted for another year I believe?
I have only seen a couple of brief cameos of TDK so I'm really looking forward to seeing his debut. Go son!
Popped in to watch open training this morning with my youngest, spoke to TDK while he signed our footy, said he would be starting on the ground at Full Forward, I wished him luck, he was very excited :D
That's good news. Thanks for sharing Joe. Best of luck TDK. For those of you old enough, you would know that TDK does amazing things to my system. ;D
Yep.....in the old days did some moonlighting away from my day job as an elec engineer with a mate who sold/new and refurbished Tandberg language labs to universities and it was all cassette based, TDK was the preferred brand, still have a few boxes kicking around somewhere...great tape, spooled really well and we tricked those labs up to copy at a real high speed ...hope the Navy Blue version of TDK works as well.... ;)
Yes, I think I still have a few lying around. I used to buy all my records as vinyl and then record to tape to play in the car. About 10 years ago we bought a new car, and I asked the sales guy before purchase whether we could get a sound system from the dealer with a tape player - he looked at me as if it was the dumbest question ever asked in human history. Jive-ass, infantile punk :-[
"TDK does amaaaazing things"
"TDK does amazing things to my system!!"
:D
:)) :)) :)) ...and there's only one place to buy your TDKs... right on, Mr B...
It’s good to hear that the King is excited about making his debut ... and that he signed your footy ????
I hope that he clunks a few early. However, even if he has a quiet game, the experience should stand him in good stead for next season.
I reckon Schumacher will get a run next week.
It wasn't that long ago (less than five years) that Landcruisers didn't have mp3 or CD players. The millenials just loved 10 hours of tapes from the ' pring to Hell's Crack.... My Tojo, my music....Chain, Clash, Sabbath, Zep, Jimi, Metallica, Slayer, Tool....nothing like a worn out tape and 1100 km of corrugations.
If the young fella reads this EB, he'll think his supporters are stark raving mad ;)
