Of the 14 Carlton listed players named, a maximum of 9 players will be on the field on Saturday. That is not the worst we've been this year, but it does show how few uninjured players we have at the moment.
One thing of interest: Garlett was omitted after another ordinary game last week. That means he is not playing at all this weekend. With 2 games to go until the end of the season I find it very strange, unless he has some injury that we don't know about yet. If he is not injured then his future must come under question.
Garlett hasn't had six possessions in either of his last couple of games. Either injured or taking the piss. If the latter, he's got one round remaining to avoid getting the chop.
Not up to it......delist....
Pickett and Kerridge will give the NBs a real boost. But for ruckmen, that I don't know.
Didn’t we take him in the national draft ?
If so it’s minimum 2 years...?
Yep.
Meanwhile he was up and about until he did his shoulder in jlt.
He's talented but his body has let him down this year IMHO.
Reckon he'll be better next season.
He’ll need to be...
My dad used to say that you need the guys who are lucky with injuries... for every 1 Shane Watson (cricketer) who eventually overcame his early injuries and forged a respectable career, there’s 2 dozen who don’t.
Tend to agree. All show but not much go I'm afraid.

Half time.
NB - 5.7 - 37
Sandy - 2.4 - 16
Goals so far to..
Casboult
Kerr
McDaid
Glass-McCasker
Penrith
Well into the final quarter and the NBs lead 80 to 52. 2 goals Kerr and JGM.
NBs win by 34pts. Finish the season winning the last 4 of 5.
That's a bloody good effort from Northern, playing the season out shows a lot of grit.
Top news. Well done lads.
Northern Blues 3.3-21 5.7-37 9.8-62 13.8-86
Sandringham 1.2-8 2.4-16 5.6-36 7.10-52
That is impressive in anyone's language. 4 out of the last 5 games, and the only one we lost we had no midfield for.

Good to see Casboult increasing his trade currency!!????
NB's having a good run. Good to see Hill get some touches. Gee how consistent, at least in terms of his numbers, is Fisher.
I hope they've got a close eye on him for a Rookie spot. Wouldn't want to let that fish get away now would we????. I'll show myself out.
Was that the young Irishman's first goal?
:)) :)) :)) champagne comedy...
Always a fine moment that. Good luck to young McCaid. I hope he gets his body right and kicks a major in the big league some day.
Anyone seen JGM play forward?
Is he a chance to do a Jones?
Is a reverse Jones a Glass-McCasker?
If you're a glass half full person.
The only time I've seen JGM play forward until 2 weeks ago was last year against the U18's. JGM actually looked better as a forward than he has a defender. I was hoping that we would persevere with it, but it never happened. We had too many tall defenders out and needed him down back.
At this point I think it is too little too late: I think his papers are done. But, who knows? Stranger things have happened.
Whether we keep him or not, we MUST recruit a kid to be the next tall defender. I don't want to depend on Weitering when Rowe, Alex Silvagni and Jones go. I can't see Marchbank doing the job at this time. But that is another tale.
I think we had Macreadie tagged to play further up the ground: with his attributes, he could play almost anywhere. I'd LIKE to think he could develop into that role in time: I just don't see him as a 'gorilla'.
The other questions: is he going to get back onto the field enough? I hope so.
Ben S ?
Understand where you are coming from, Rowe is the only gorilla-minder we have and he is at best nearing the end. All the others are shorter and/or more suited to athletic types. But with the way the modern game is evolving do we need the gorilla minder that often, or to put it another way is the gorilla as a species in danger of extinction? To me they are already at near-extinction and the only thing that is likely to reverse that is the introduction of 666. So will the number of the beast lead to an increase in the number of beasts down forward? Quite possibly, and allied to that is the trend towards one ruckman with a back-up who contributes forward - although Clarkson's one-man campaign to save the 2 ruckman model may get some supporters if it troubles teams in the finals.
I think a club probably does need one gorilla-minder on the list for when the need arises even if there may be games where that player misses selection (or has to play a different role, eg up forward) due to the absence of a match-up. And perhaps am apprentice to hopefully take over is not a bad use of list space - the question is where to find them. Sam Collins at Werribee is one name that keeps cropping up at 194/97 he has a bit of size about him, dominates 1-on-1 at VFL level and has improved his mobility since his time at Freo who had him bulked up too much. Agility is no doubt his weakness along with disposal but I am pretty sure someone will give him a spot on at least a rookie list and I would mind if it was us. Any other names come to mind?
He will be drafted and it won't be onto a rookie list.
Agree...I could see Hawthorn picking him up, being an ex Box Hill player.....
I think Patrick Kerr is the one who could develop into this sort of player.
