So the voting method for the gals is a simple one.
Good old fashioned 3,2,1.
Votes are then tallied up and averaged out, to get a round 3, 2, 1.
So, go at it. Who are your best 3 players?
3 - Loynes
2 - Prespakis
1 - Brazzale
3. Loynes
2. Prespakis
1. Downie
Votes:
3: Maddy Prespakis
2: Katie Loynes
1: Jess Edwards
Honourable Mentions:
Alison Downie
Lauren Brazzale
Explanations:
3: Prespakis: For a lass in her 1st senior game, Maddy got more centre clearances and possessions that any of our players. She will get better, as se is still getting used to the pace of the game, but I was really pleased.
2: Loynes: Her efforts were brilliant.
1: Edwards: Kept Kearney quiet. Kearney got possessions, but they were all under pressure. Edwards were on her back for the whole game.
Downie: I feel it a bit difficult to give votes to a lass who played on one of North's real stars, but Downie and Moody between them had considerably more taps that the North rucks did. Downie really put in an effort against taller and younger opponents. It was not her fault that Emma King took so many marks, made so many tackles and kicked goals. :(
Brazzale: Not huge numbers, but I liked the way she put in and kept her opponents under pressure. Considering how often and how well the ball was coming in, she did a solid job.
Other positives were Tayla Harris, who looked dangerous all game, and the Hosking twins, who never gave up trying. Couldn't find much else to be excited about.
3: Loynes - 4 quarter effort
2: Prespakis - Good effort 1st up. Still expect a lot more though long term
1: Brazzale - I always liken her to Simmo, always looking to move the ball on every chance she gets, won't die wondering. Always gives effort.
3 - Loynes
2 - Prespakis
1 - Brazzale
Any other voters?
Easy job this week Kruddler ... and remarkable consistency in the voting :o
OK, so after last weeks efforts, i've tallied the votes and after a pretty consistent voting effort it should come as little surprise.
Leaderboard:
12: Davey

Much better effort this week. Harder to pick your best 3 players, but its time to do so.
Your 3, 2, 1....
3 Prespakis
2 Harrangton
1 Pound
3 votes: Maddy Prespakis
2 votes: Nat Plane
1 vote: Kerryn Harrington
Honourable mentions:
Alison Downie - before she tired.
Jayde van Dyke
Gabby Pound
3: Prespakis
2: Harrington
1: Edwards
The one vote could've gone to about 6 players, in all honesty it should go to 'daylight' though.
I thought we had the game won - perhaps the players did too :(
3 - Prespakis (and not just because she was interested in a bit of biffo)
2 - Plane
1 - Harrington
3 - Loynes

Any other voters this week?
Lods?
Currently got a tie for 3rd place i wouldn't mind someone breaking.
Not this week Kruds
I've just moved up to Brisbane and I've been moving furniture from the Gong the last couple of days.
I've only caught bits and pieces of the games.
Hopefuly next week we can get the foxtel up and running.
Its been just over a year, but the AFLW girls have had their first win.
So lets see which 3 girls deserve votes this week?
3, 2, 1 .... ?
3 Prespakis
2 Harris
1 Gee
I've been agonising over who i was going to give the last vote to since the game was over. Managed to track down some stats, (of sorts) via... https://www.afl.com.au/womens/matches/stats
...finally came to the conclusion i was going to give it to Gee.....and then you beat me to it. :P
3 Prespakis
2 Harris
1 Gee
We couldn't split them for 3rd spot, so i decided to split the votes for them.
Round 2: vs Crows
3 - Prespakis
2 - Harrington
0.5 - Loynes
0.5 - Plane
3 Prespakis
2 Gee
1 J Hosking
3 - Prespakis
2 - Davey
1 - Harris
[3] Maddy Prespakis: more of the ball than anyone else on the ground, 3 good goals, some good marks, good tackles and clean disposal. And this lass is just starting.
[2] Bree Davey: this was the Captain's Game we needed. Especially when the pressure was on.
[1] Tayla Harris: What a difference her contested marking makes! The way she hits the contest, she does not get outmarked.
Honourable Mentions:
Georgie Gee: Another youngster with a lot of improvement in her, but her ability to hit targets is invaluable.
Alison Downie: When we loose Downie usually struggles. She didn't struggle today. She took on a taller girl and made the centre square ours.
Jess Hosking: One of her better games with some of the best centre breaks you could look for. if only the boys could do that!
Chloe Dalton: Another real positive in a strong game. Really stepping up.
[3] Prespakis
[2] Downie
[1] Harris
Honourable Mentions: Dalton, Harrington, Gee, Loynes (as usual) and Davey
I struggled to find 3 to vote for in round 1 - this week I had plenty of options ;D
3. Prespakis
2. Harris
1. Davey
First game I've seen this season.
We went OK I reckon.
3. Prespakis
2. Gee
1. Harris
3 Prespakis
2 Harris
1 Gee
Round 3: vs Giants
3 - Prespakis
2 - Harris
1 - Gee
Prespakis got a perfect score of 3 votes from every voter. Only the 2nd time that has ever happened. Previous time was Davey in the game she did her knee 3/4s of the way through the game!
Runaway B+F at this stage
A close loss where we failed to convert our chances. The one that got away.
Who deserves 3, 2, 1 this week?
Votes:
[3] Bri Davey: Brilliant. Her best game since 2016.
[2] Gabby Pound: Her best game for us.
[1] Harrington: A really strong effort in defence.
Honourable Mentions:
Maddy Prespakis
Jess Hosking
Brooke Walker
[3] Bri Davey: Her best game since 2016.
[2] Gabby Pound: Her best game for us.
[1] Harrington: A really strong effort in defence.
Next best = Al Downie
This is a bit repetitive :D
3-Davey
2-Pound
1-Harrington (one bit of play where she took on her opponent and basically "ran rings around her" was really impressive.)
Had Harris kicked straight result and votes may have been a bit different.
3 - Davey
2 - Harrington
1 - Pound
A few centimetres difference and Harris could have been in the votes ::)
3: Davey
2: Harrington
1: Pound
Prespakis, despite not being as effective as earlier weeks still had the most disposals, =most clearances, =most I50s.
Not bad for a 4th gamer.
And a good learning experience for her too Kruddler. She's going to be a cracker in a season or two if she continues to work hard.
3 Davey
2 Prespakis
1 Harrington
Anyone else catch this game who hasn't voted yet?
Currently tied for 2nd and 3rd and wouldn't mind splitting them.
Its always good to get a win against the old enemy. That makes us 3-0 and still undefeated against the pies. ;D
Which 3 girls were best on this week? Quite a few girls worthy of votes IMO. This will be tough.
3, 2, 1...
Round 4: vs Cats
3: Davey
1.5: Pound
1.5: Harrington
Couldn't split the 2 defenders who got equal votes....probably fair result in the end.
The Great Escape
3 - Harrington
2 - S. Hosking
1 - Van Dyke
3: Davey - 20 touches (2nd) @95%, 5 clearances (1st), 5 marks (3rd), 4 tackles (=1st), 5 I50's (=1st), 3 R50's (=1st)....yet largely unnoticed.
2: Harrington
1: Pound
Apologies to Prespakis
Votes:
[3] Bri Davey: 20 possessions at 95% and a real captain's game. Really good.
[2] Gabby Pound: Gabby has really lifted this season and has been excellent in defence. Her experience and poise was something we wouldn't have seen last year.
[1] Kerryn Harrington: Brilliant in the air against a bigger, stronger opponent.
Honourable Mentions:
Breann Moody: Being dropped did her a real favour. She was so much better tonight, both in the ruck and forward.
Maddy Prespakis: 21 possessions and classy disposal. I loved that she lifted when we were in trouble.
Darcy Vescio: Darcy could have iced the game early if she could kick from set shots, but her game this week was about 20 times better than any other she has produced this season.
Chloe Dalton: another big night for this former Rugby player. Her pace off the wing was excellent.

I'm a bit skeptical of the stats Kruddler. One of the reasons I gave Van Dyke votes was I thought she never once wasted he football, and the stats support that with 100% efficiency. I thought Davey won a lot of football but wasted a bit of it, yet the official stats have her also at 95%.
I thought Van Dyke, Harrington and Hosking were the three that stood firm when the Filth got on a roll which is why I gave them the votes. I might have also gave Pound a vote but she did have a couple of significant clangers.
I wasn't going to comment on your votes, but since you brought it up.....Hosking? I'd combine the efforts of both of them and couldn't fit them in the votes.
Van Dyke....she;d maybe be the 4th best defender on the night...maybe. Well by the votes, she is the 4th best defender Harrington+Pound+Stevens, all have more votes. Probably couldn't tell you a 5th defender TBH.
re Davey, wasn't her best ever game, but thats the point of my comments re her stats. It was a decent, not outstanding, game and she dominated the stats.
Yes stats are not the be-all and end-all, but given the amount of votes our defenders have got this year, it appears people are well aware of that.
Seems like there are some good judges watching AFLW :)
Round 5: vs Pies
3 - Davey
2 - Harrington
1 - Pound
The way I saw it when we had all but lost the momentum and the game, it was Harrington and Van Dyke that steadied the ship, not Davey or Pound or Prespakis. Davey was basically missing in action for the 3rd Qtr, but was very good in the last in reversing the midfield situation.
Pound executed some horrible clangers that contributed to our loss of momentum. In AFLW there are not so many possessions that you can afford players making multiple errors and expect to get away with it! I would have given her votes if not for those 2 or 3 big errors.
3. Davey
2. Pound
1.Harrington
A win to get us into finals.
Who deserves the 3, 2, 1 this week?
3 - Prespakis
2 - Walker
1 - Harris
Votes:
[3] Maddy Prespakis: 27 possessions say a lot, but it was the clearances that stood out. She was often under pressures, but still got quality ball out.
[2] Alison Downie: One of the most intelligent ruck displays I’ve seen for a long time. Her ability to get the ruck on her terms was crucial and allowed us the opportunity to go forward.
[1] Brooke Walker: Her role as a small forward this week was excellent, and she proved to be conduit to goal that needed.
Honourable Mentions:
Chloe Dalton: I really wanted to give Dalton votes for her effort. Seeing her run out of the centre and pounding the ball into attack was lovely and reminded me of Paddy Cripps. And her smart play on the forward line was important.
Tayla Harris: She is a real target and her strong contested marking is a delight to watch.
Nik Stevens: Her best game of the year.
A lot of other girls deserve a mention as well.
A little harder to separate them this week. Lots of contributors to the win.
3 Prespakis
2 Dalton
1 Harris
Just finished watching the game. Very tough week for votes. Sheesh.
I've decided on...
3. Prespakis
2. Walker
1. Harris
3 Mullane
2 Downie
1 Prespakis
Very pleasing to see so many contribtors this week.
3 Harris - intense from ff - fb. Loved the big crunch end of q2
2 Prespakis - integral play maker and star in the making
1 Mullane- omnipresent and reliable
HM: Dalton and Walker - dangerous combination developing nicely, Al Downie was strong, focused, and consistent
Congratulations Blues
3. Prespakis
2. Harris
1. Downie
I think the spread of players receiving votes reflects an even performance and many contributors. If we can keep that up who knows how far we’ll go :)
3. Prespakis
2. Harris
1. Walker
Good result against a bigger bodied opposition.
3. Downie
2. Walker
1. Prepakis
Next week will be a test against one of the more skilled sides, how our game plan holds up when an opposition is not really focused on contested football.
There has only been 6 different vote getters thus far which is very common. Only once have we had less (5) and once have we had more last week (7)....but that was LPs fault. ;)
Currently we have a tie for 3rd place. Any more voters able to break the tie?
I noticed :)
I guess what I meant was I couldn't disagree with any of the votes cast and could have quite easily given my votes to any of the six, and possibly one or two more.
Of the 6 vote getters this week, 3 of them haven't got a vote this year yet.
In total we have had 18 different girls get votes this year.
I think we only have 30 on the list, and some of them haven't played a game yet. Others just 1 or 2.
Good spread this year compared to last.
That's definitely a good sign. Hopefully we can hang on to most of our list and bring in a couple of guns. I'd be targeting the Rugby 7s girls.
Dead rubber game that saw us keep that winning feeling up.
Who deserves the 3, 2, 1 this week?
Tough game to give votes in. I could easily name about 8 players
Lets go with...
3. Davey
2. Gee
1. Pound
Apologies to Walker, Downie, Stevens, Van Dyke, Harris.....

Votes:
[3] Bri Davey: not her most dynamic game, but the clearances she got and the leadership she provided were excellent.
[2] Alison Downie: Downie was not as effective in the ruck as she has been, but her work around the ground probably never has been better. A very rounded performance.
[1] Brooke Walker: great goal kicking! Walker was dangerous every time she got near the ball.
Honourable Mentions:
Maddy Prespakis: Probably deserved a vote and would have if her opponents had not been as effective. Maddy's class disposal and willingness to get down and dirty I really love!
Chloe Dalton: Chloe has been very good this year, While this game wasn't her best, she still provided great run and goal kicking.
Gabby Pound: Another really solid game in defence. She has had a very good year.
Nik Stevens: Nik was very ordinary when the season started, but her last few games have been excellent. Her run and carry from defence and improved disposal has been a really positive step forward.
Tayla Harris, Harrington and Jayde van Dyke also deserve a mention.
3 - Davey
2 - Downie
1 - Walker
Honourable mentions to many others, particularly Prespakis, Stevens (really improved as the season progressed), Dalton, Pound, Harrington, Harris, etc, etc.
3. Davey
2. Prepaskis
1. Walker
Thought i already started this, my bad.
A dominant performance by the girls, a tough ask to pick just 3, but lets do it.
Who is your 3, 2, 1 this week?
Round 6: vs Lions
3 - Prespakis
2 - Davey
0.5 - Downie
0.5 - Walker
Round 7: vs Dogs
3 - Davey
2 - Walker
1 - Downie
Votes:
[3] Lauren Brazzale: Probably her best game for us. Really solid and surprised the Freo mids.
[2] Alison Downie: Good in the ruck and excellent around the grounds, Downie is playing really well at the moment and is negating the opposition rucks while giving our mids a decent chance at getting the ball.
[1] Maddy Prespakis: Not perhaps as dominant as she can be, but her ability to get the contested ball and to deliver the ball to advantage was excellent.
Honourable Mentions:
It is very hard not to mention anyone this week. I loved Sarah Hosking’s game. Davey was excellent, Harris was dangerous, Gabby Pound was solid and prolific, Harrington and van Dyke were really good defensively. Chloe Dalton and Brook Walker continue to improve every week. Breeann Moody was good … I could mention the whole team.
Been tossing up over this for a while now....
3: Harris (Half of this for her performance, half for doing it under the pressure she's been under - akin to Waite playing the week his dad died)
2: Downie
1: Brazzale
3 Downie
2 Davey
1 Brazzale
3 - Brazzale
2 - Hosking, S
1 - Downie
And apologies to at least half the team who also deserved a vote. Special mentions to Tayla Harris, Davey and Prespakis.
3-Brazzale
2- Harris ( Nothing really to do with the events of the week for me though....I just think she set an example of 'hard at the ball and contest' that was infectious throughout the side)

OK, so not the result we wanted, but we should still recognise the positives.
Who deserves 3, 2, 1 this week?
Indeed. It was not the way we wanted to go out for 2019, but it has been a very nice rise. Hopefully we can continue in this vein.
However, something has to be done about the incredible advantage that Adelaide has. No other team has 2 states worth of players to pick from.
OK, off my high horse and onto the votes:
Votes:
[3] Bri Davey: 22 possessions and a real effort from the Captain.
[2] Nik Stevens: Solid in defence
[1] Maddy Prespakis: Not her best game, but her class is worth a lot.
Honourable Mentions:
Darcy Vescio: Very good after half time when she was further up the ground. Pity she couldn’t get near it early.
Alison Downie: She was beaten in the ruck today for only the 2nd time this season. But she kept going and managed to get ball, especially after half time.
Gabby Pound: Again, not her best effort, but her work rate and endeavour were excellent.
Sarah Hosking: Plays with passion, plays it tough.
3 Davey
2 Prespakis
1 S Hosking

Any other voters?
All the regulars have voted so far, but i expected a few part-timers to vote considering it was a Grand Final.
GF: vs crows
3: Davey
2: S. Hosking
0.5: Stevens
0.5: Prespakis
Couldn't split the last 2 this week, which had a dramatic effect on the overall tallies.
For the first time all year, Prespakis is NOT leading the B+F count.
It all came down to the very last person putting in the very last votes.
Lods gave 1 vote to Stevens, and 0 to Prespakis, meaning they drew, meaning Prespakis fell 0.5 short.
So, Congrats to Bri Davey for winning the CSC B+F for 2019.
Final tally....
12: Davey
11.5: Prespakis
5.5: Harrington
5: Harris
4: Brazzale
3.5: Downie
3.5: Loynes
2.5: Pound
2.5: Walker

0.5: Plane
0.5: Stevens
OK, so last year i came up with an alternative leaderboard
This basically adds up what % of votes the girls get each week. So someone who ultimately gets BOG might not get BOG from every poster. So her score might be 2.63 votes for that round.
Alternatively, not every girl who gets a vote can make the 3, 2, 1 for that week. So someone might only get 1 vote total from all voters and would end up with something like 0.11 votes for that round.
Overall, i think this method rewards consistency and acknowledges those who do not get top 3 for any given week.
Anyway, every vote counted and allocated comes up with this alternative leaderboard.
1: Prespakis (13.6)
2: Davey (12.41)
3: Downie (4.35)
4: Harrington (3.96)
5: Harris (3.55)
6: Loynes (3.47)
7: Brazzale (2.6)
8: Pound (2.51)
9: Walker (1.89)
10: S. Hosking (1.72)
11: Gee (1.03)
12: Stevens (0.88)
13: Plane (0.67)
14: Edwards (0.5)
15: Mullane (0.44)
16: Dalton (0.22)
17: Van Dyke (0.13)
18: J. Hosking (0.11)
FWIW, Bri Davey got 4 BOGs for the year (hence 12 votes from the other leaderboard) but only votes in 2 of the other 5 games.
Maddie Prespakis received votes in every single game of the year, but was not BOG as much as Davey, only 3 times.
For a bit of fun, i tallied up votes from the 5 voters who voted for every single game, including myself.
Here is their top 3.
kruddler
1st: Davey (12)
2nd: Prepsakis (11)
=3rd: Harris (6)
=3rd: Harrington (6)
Crashlander
1st: Davey (16)
2nd: Prespakis (15)
3rd: Pound (4)
riverrat
1st: Davey (14)
=2nd: Prespakis (9)
=2nd: Downie (9)
DJC
1st: Davey (14)
2nd: Prespakis (13)
3rd: Downie (5)
Navymaven
3: Prespakis (19)
2: Davey (9)
1: Harris (8)
So whichever way you slice it, Davey and Prespakis are 1 and 2 amongst CSC folk and after that its pretty even contribution.....but daylight to 3rd.
Thanks for your efforts Kruddler ... and the alternative analyses.
Do we communicate the results of our B&Fs to the club?
As with the mens, its always good to compare to the actual B+F results. See how astute our watchers are, and see what we might have missed.
A great job of analysis, Kruddler.
