Title: Jim Park Medal 2019 AFL Rd 7: Carlton vs North Melbourne
Post by: crashlander on May 04, 2019, 10:12:01 pm
At least I should be able to vote this week!

You know the rules. Hope there is someone to votes for!

Remember:
[1] At least 3 players need to get a mention.
[2] No more than 10 votes for any one player.
[3] Give a rating of team performance. It can be anywhere from A+ to F.
[4] Votes must add up to 15.

Hope to see a lot of happy voters this week! :)

We're not going to get many voters this week. I hope I can control my anger when I do my votes in a few minutes.

Team:   F+
Our worst effort for the year by a long way, with the last quarter a minor positive factor. I cannot believe just how poor we were, considering our recent form.

Votes:
Unfortunately, I have to give 15 votes. It is going to be an effort.
[2.5]   Cripps
[2.5]   Thomas
[2.5]   Weitering
[2]   Walsh
[2]   Fisher
[1]   Phillips
[1]   Casboult
[1]   Silvagni
[0.5]   Jones

Explanations:
[2.5]   Cripps:   Cripps was quiet early, but he worked into the game and was magnificent in the 2nd half.
[2.5]   Thomas:   Daisy was excellent early and did manage a 4-quarter effort.
[2.5]   Weitering:   Considering how the ball was coming down, Jacob was marvellous.
[2]   Walsh:   This may have been his statistically worst game, but he was still great today.
[2]   Fisher:   Fisher was quiet early, but he finished very strongly.
[1]   Phillips:   Man-full in the ruck, with some good marks.
[1]   Casboult :   Yes, Levi made some terrible mistake early, but he got the ball the ball while others couldn’t get near it. Then Levi did OK in the ruck and was very good in defence when down there after Jones was carried off. I don’t think we can afford him in attack, having missed the shots he did from where he did, but he played for the jumper and was not disgraced. Many others were.
[1]   Silvagni:   Jack didn’t get reward for his effort today: he dropped too many marks. But he also played for the guernsey and did some really good things.
[0.5]   Jones:   Considering how bad we were early, Jones did a great job. He had got right on top of his opponent before suffering concussion.

Honourable Mentions:
Murphy: He wasn’t as bad as he is being painted, but he has been a lot better. I would prefer to see him playing forward and kicking goals.

Funny isn't it. i thought Phillips got destroyed in the ruck.....as have our rucks all season bar when a (fit) Kreuzer played...

Philips ruck stats vs Goldstein were not too bad, the Nth man hurt us up forward but I gave Philips 1 vote for effort as
he does try...also there were a lack of options at the one vote end.
