Positive so far is that we can't get our hands on the ball and we came back from more last week.
Negatives so far is that we do not appear to have the same hunger we had last week.
I miss Jack.

Getting smashed around the ball by the Bont and Dunkley......not sure why Weitering is ending up on Lloyd either. Still in the game but Teague needs to revamp out stoppage work and get some help for Cripps, Libba needs a whack.

Totally unwatchable. For some unknown reason the club think Fisher is good. I reckon he’s useless. Never kicks, can’t tackle and all he does is run around like a scared rabbit. Why he’s in and Silvagni was dropped is beyond me.
Obviously there is no game plan. So what about man on man. How about making sure that we always have a bloke in the forward line to kick to. And that’s just a start.
Anyway we have won a game or two. That will do us for the year, but don’t expect 60,000 to sign up next year, no matter who they get as coach.

Daisy gets thrown to the ground. - Thats ok. Daisy throws someone else to the ground - Thats NOT ok - 50m penalty.
F*** me where is the consistency.

Fisher has more career kicks than handballs.
Fisher took down the untackleable Dusty Martin, twice, is Round 1. Despite being the smallest bloke on our list. He averages over 3 tackles a game.
Sure, have an opinion, but what you said is just flat our wrong.

Every goal we've got we've given it straight back.
Going to take a while to break years of crapty habits and train some new ones. Quite a while.

I guess the Dogs coach might not be as happy with this game so far. Killing us when they have the ball and only 21 points at half time. Sh1t if they get tired and sick of running, we could still win this. Pffft, hahahaha.

Fish and Samo cannot stick tackles. I’m a real fan of both but they’re like little kids trying to bring down giants

Need to stop the influence of Bontempelli and maybe with Libba off we can get a few more numbers around the ball, still a close game but need to stop giving away easy goals with lazy kicks, poor manning up etc..

We settled down a lot in the second half of that qtr and started to get right back into it - even with Cripps being well held so far. We need to seriously get back into the clearances and take more control in the midfield pdq.

They missed some easy goals and we got a couple of frees to Charlie in the right place near goal....Bevo has followed the Collingwood plan on Cripps and manned him at the stoppages but then let that man run off him ie Dunkley..need to stop that happening.

but then he'll never see the ball, our mids no good....lol
They have to lift and take responsibility...SPS and Fisher have been ordinary, Walsh has been ok and Setterfield also started well IMO. Cant rely on Cripps getting 38 possies and kicking 4 each week, need a plan B.

Back to our old habits - no running, no pressure and kicking long down the boundary to contests.
We need to find a way to initiate some run off half back and force their defensive zone to move. Our stand still tactics just let them be way to comfortable.
Charlie and McKay have their backlineworried but need some quicker ball movement to let them take advantage of the situation.

SPS isn't quite on the same figures as the last Bulldogs game.

I actually had that thought in the first quarter when i had barely sighted Murphy and he'd only had 1 touch. Thought, he'll be fresh for the last part of the game when we overrun them....and it wasn't just him that was unsighted.

Good effort that quarter. What is continually highlighted for me, is our lack of tackling ability. It could be seen in that last three minutes of the third quarter. SPS, Dow, Fisher, Cunningham, Gibbons, LOB, can’t tackle to save their lives and are easily shrugged off.
Personally I don’t think that Gibbons or Fisher are up to it, nor will they ever be. The jury is out on LOB, but I have my doubts. Hopefully Setterfield will improve with this season under his belt.
Murphy is way past it, and should retire gracefully.
We desperately need to recruit a few big bodied players and build up Dow, and SPS, if that’s possible.
Mcgovern doesn’t give us enough and Harry has disappeared off the face of the earth. Anyway the thought of a win was nice while it lasted.

How do we switch from doing the right things that lead to kicking goals and being competitive to just standing still and ball watching in the space of a qtr time break?

1.5 quarters of lacklustre standing still, 1 quarter of trying, 1.5 quarters or fighting hard. Can’t expect to win with that sort of inconsistency. But at least we fought hard at times. Just have to do more of it.
