[3] Three players at least must get a mention.
[4] A grade for the game, A+ (what I want to see) to F-.
I wish I was there. Watching on TV isn't the same. No way to release the pent up emotion.

We weren’t that bad; we just weren’t as good as we needed to be. Early in the game we looked pretty good in patches, but a poor 4th quarter killed us.
Votes:
This was another game where Carlton were a team, rather than having a stand-out individual. We probably needed someone to stand up and dominate the game.
[3]   Sam Walsh
[2]   Ed Curnow
[2]   Will Setterfield
[2]   Jacob Weitering
[1.5]   Liam Jones
[1]   Eddie Betts
[1]   Sam Docherty
[1]   Kade Simpson
[0.5]   Patrick Cripps
[0.5]   Zac Fisher
[0.5]   Cameron Polson
Explanations:
[3]   Sam Walsh   A very solid game in all parts.
[2]   Ed Curnow:   Another Ed Curnow game. Strong and hard working.
[2]   Will Setterfield   Setters was good early, but his influence waned.
[2]   Jacob Weitering:   Dominated his position yet again.
[1.5]   Liam Jones   Excellent early, Jones won his position comfortably.
[1]   Eddie Betts:   In a number of respects, this was Eddie’s best game for ages. He was a danger every time the ball came into our forward line. With a little luck could have had 5 goals. But his inability to pick up his man going the other way really hurt us.
[1]   Sam Docherty:   Solid in defence.
[1]   Kade Simpson      A solid Simmo game.
[0.5]   Patrick Cripps:      Cripps didn’t have a big night, but he was always in the clinches, getting tackles and working hard.
[0.5]   Zac Fisher:   Another player who was dangerous, who did some good things, but who didn’t do enough of them often enough.
[0.5]   Cameron Polson:   Closed down Thomas after Thomas had started well.
Honourable Mentions:
Jack Newnes:      Solid effort
Lachie Plowman:   Solid in defence.

Jones was unlucky to miss out but Betts did just enough to pip him at the post.
