Hated reading it
Me too. That really saddens me.
Yeah, 2020 been a bastard
I might have owned an XU1, but come Bathurst, I was solid 351GT
If only you still had it, worth a bomb now.
When I was 18, I was going to buy an LC GTR for that money, the old man wouldnt let me because he thought it was too fast. My cousin had one of the original Harry Firth built LJ XU1s with a 308 in it back in the 70s and early 80s. Sold it for SFA and the young bloke who bought it wrote it off. That car would be priceless today.
Imagine them now with power steering and a decent aircon, and yes, I remember your father putting his foot down :)
Back on topic, I have been following on this very sad story for a while. I hope Larry Perkins can help sort this out with the best result possible for his good mate AM. LP is good man to have in your corner, I hear he is going very hard to help his mate and will leave no stone unturned (as he did on the race track).

As a small aside, you guys may enjoy this video which I stumbled across.
Watched that the other day, great story behind that thing. Again, worth a bomb today, one of my favorite GTs the XA. My mate is restoring his very similar to this one.
Loved the XB coupe myself.
