LOL
thought I was going to read, he wants to be know as Harry X
I would've thought "Harry The Moral Arbiter & Social Humanitarian of the Universe" would have suited him better. Silly me.
Or "Harry of Nazareth" for short?
Me and other drunk bastards in standing room are going to enjoy singing to the tune of La Bamba next year Vs the Magpies (within the guidelines of what's acceptable without crossing the line of course! :) ).
I thought he might go for something tough like Dirty Harry, but Lumumba. ;D
He is going to cop it with that name.
Pity we don't have a proper Grog Squad. I'd call an emergency meeting over a few beers to see what we can do with this one! ;D
He is either taking the piss or he has Tickets on himself :o :o :o
He has taken over Buddy's mantle as King AFL Flog.
Gozza is taking the piss for sure, and plenty of it. ;D
Drinking plenty of it tonight. ;D
Mants, I think "Boring Harry" would probably suit him better don't you think?
Initially I thought "here we go..." but O'Brien is his step dad's surname and he is changing it to his biological father's surname.
harry imvictimus
Henrietta....
BAZINGA!
Good on him. Gutsy. Will be opened up to all manner of ridicule. Courageous.
We didn't have an inquest into Brian Harris changing to Brian Lake. Can't see any reason why Harry O's decision is any more worthy of comment.
Poor bugger has had a difficult life and good luck to him if changing his name helps him to sort things out.
So do I... now sleep!!! And have a glass of water (or 2) before going to bed.
Didn't you start the thread on lake changing his name? :P
But labumba is a bit of an eyebrow raising name and Labumba is a bit less of an under-the-radar guy than Lake.
Wish he changed his name to Nelson O'Brien so we can call him NOB for short.
Brian Lake changeding from "Harris" when his son was born - having shed 'Lake' after his parents marriage busted. Seems okay to me.
HarryO is more conspicuous, his history and culture and his bloody haircuts.
Harry has had a tough road, he should operate under the radar and newspapers should back off.
The media value-add is zilch, I learn much more from this site that I could possibly get from papers and banal TV footy shows (except for 'On the Couch')
Apparently he has just released his book too. "It's Cool to be Conscious".
The bloke is a farking egotistical mental case.
Lumumba - funnier than budda hockings name change to whiskas
My initial thoughts was that "Tier" hasn't had his name in the paper for a while
Something tells me that Harry just can't bear being out of the lime-light.
Something tells Nathan must be thinking "WTF, it wasn't like this in my playing days".
Surprised he didn't change his first name to Lenny, and his last name to Kravitz. ::)
Let's say for the sake of argument, commentators decide to ignore his ego and stick with Harry O. Is there anything in the legal field to stop them?
Maybe he could make it like one of those Brazilian soccer stars along the lines of Pele or Ronaldinho and have just the one name.....Harry?
Think you're onto something there P!2C. Something like "Harrinho" or "Harryinho"?
I reckon they should refrain from mentioning his name at all.
Refer to him as a downhill skier maybe?
Gozza, your last post was removed for making prejudiced, derogatory comments.
This is a clear breach of the CoC and will be discussed.
'The footballer formerly known as Harry O'! :))
Wasn't that the title of the article on the AFL website? lol
No sht and here I was thinking I'd come up with something original!! :(
