The 2's play Geelong at Carlton this Saturday at 12:05. Not on TV, alas.
Interesting to see who gets up to play this week.
Binns, Cincotta and Sam Durdin named as emergencies for the seniors. One of those will probably not play VFL: probably Cincotta.
Akuei and Billy Wilson available. Wilson is an immediate 'in'. Not so sure about Akuei. He has had a pretty ordinary start to the year.
Our line-up:
B: Lachie Young Sam Durdin Harry Lemmey
HB: Billy Wilson Dom Akuei Michael Lewis
C: Alex Cincotta Jaxon Binns Tom Phillips
HF: Ned Cahill Bob Monahan Ashton Moir
F: Liam McMahon Luke Nelson Alex Mirkov
R: Hudson O'Keefe Heath Ramshaw Zavier Maher
Int: L. Prout W. White B. Kuipers A. Stevens B. Lambert
Em: D. Hogg K. Ferranato J. Gedi H. Gill C, Verrell T. Sruk F. Riley J. Brereton
Disappointed to see Jess Gedi out; he was good last week.
Binns, cincotta and big durds not sighted in the first.
Could be a few changes in the main game.
They're not playing. Be barely a Carlton AFL listed player out there.
7 afl listed playing but they hav15 and ours are all struggling....
Yay...we got a goal!
Back under 100!
EDIT: Back over 100.
Lost by 101pts. Not a surprise with who we had out there.
Horror game but given our injuries and with such a depleted team not unexpected. The Cats had AFL premiership players in the team along with plenty who have played a few senior games and it went to script.
Mirkov and Okeefe didnt do a lot and most of what Dom Akui did resulted in turnovers and there wasnt much to enthuse about...Maher battled on, Wilson started well but I thought our two best players were McMahon and Nelson.
Id be persisting with the ex Pie McMahon down back, he has some ability all be it he can look laconic but his skills are good.
Ouch!!
Carlton 5 - 7 - 55
Geelong 23 - 18 - 156
4 of the lowest 6 possession getters were our AFL listed kids: Lemmey had 6, O'Keefe had 6, Mirkov had 7 and Monahan had 7. Not much to enthuse about.
Need to move on from this one - VFL side were completely depleted.
One good thing about this game: There wasn't one score review or one contentious decision by a goal umpire :)
