We do in as underdogs with the youngest team we've fielded for ...
Flabbergasted. No talls up forward and we still bomb it in ::)
And none of the midgets can either get front and square or lay a ####ing tackle.
If you can't do either FIND A NEW CLUB we don't want you.
Binns, Motlop and Durdin... zero touches to the 30 minute mark of the first qtr.
We are ahead at 1/4 time if only by two points.
Not good signs thus far.
Our problem is not structural, it's method, it's been that way for much of this season.
Focussing on the mix of small and tall is a distraction, a veil for the real villain to hide behind.
When we win fans forget the in game pain, and when we lose they blame pretty much anything else, no matter which way this game heads it has no bearing on that underlying reason.
Selection isn't a cause of poor ball use, the mix of newbies and old, short or tall, run or grunt, none of it is a reason or excuse for the fundamental lack of skill.
Brodie Kemp giving us something up forward...they are not that great and we can win this imo.
Hello this Corey Durdin
Binns looks lost at this level. Lord however
At least it's at our end
Shame about all those behinds. Some scoreboard pressure would really give reward for effort.
I agree on Binns, just not on the same wavelength.
Apart from the goal kicking, a great quarter by this makeshift team.
If we keep this pressure on for the whole game we win.
Simple as that.
Pretty good effort by the boys so far. Keeping the lid on the Eagles and putting on plenty of pressure. Just need to improve our conversion rate.
Cripps, Kennedy, Hewett, Pittonet all leading from the front.
WC are very ordinary, even with some stars missing our best players are better than theirs and we had to respond after last weeks debacle. Id expect to win this game comfortably...
Playing an excellent game
Bit tired of the Hollands brothers waxing at every opportunity even where there better options.
Lord seems to have a bit of Kent about him, just first impressions.
Crippa is two levels above everyone else on the ground.
Not a single tall on the line made a genuine attempt to spoil. If we drop off by even 10% this qtr we are farked.
Owies clever
The ball went of bounds twice yet the umpire let it go.
Binns is better this quarter, Lord & Carroll are starting to get more touches too.
Cowan & Cincotta are my faves, two non-flashy tradesmen who are always desperate & giving their all.
I don't think it is the right thing but is it possible that the supposed recruitment of Haynes is so that Kemp can play as the third forward next year ??
Yes. When in a premiership window good 32yo's are ok, especially if they fill a hole.
Our club wrote him off as a forward and onballer, but he's always had a skillset more suited to being around the centre or forward of centre. I suppose we needed a marking defender, so that's what we decided to make him, but it's made not a natural skill.
Won games for Vic when swung forward late in U18 games.
I guess it wouldn't be a Carlton game without at least 1 injury. Durdin and apparently Williams also down to the rooms.
Moir looks impressive already. Athletic, moves well.
Gutsy win whichever way you want to look at it.
Unbelievable, but can we knock off the Aints?
If we bring the same attitude we can beat them
Yep. Nearly 11 goals to the good, cr@p weather, makeshift team, longest trip in AFL footy etc. I'll take it.
Only sour note is the injuries. Again.
