Merry Christmas to all....interestingly both Richmond and Essendon have refused to wish supporters a Merry Christmas and have used the phrase " happy holidays" instead so they can appease the wokey folk in society who find it difficult to promote and acknowledge a traditional Christian calendar event.
Wasn't there some controversy in regards to us a year or 2 ago about this?
I can't recall exactly what happened, but i think it was something like 16 clubs said 'happy holidays', we said 'merry christmas' and geelong didn't say anything.
I'm not religious in the slightest but i've got no issue with saying Merry Christmas.
I've got no issue with 'Chinese New Year', Independence day or whatever religeous and/or national holiday people want to celebrate.
The whole idea is about getting around eachother and having a good time. Not nitpick and grandstand for attention.
Merry Christmas to anyone who wants it and 'Happy Festivus to the rest of us' ;)

It's just plain silly, divisive and totally unnecessary. If we go through life trying to appease and make everyone happy, afraid to offend (yes, be mindful and sensitive to others) we'll all end up bloody miserable. We have differences, celebrate them FFS.
