Explanations:
[5] Jacob Weitering: Not just our best, he was probably BOG. He had 4 dominant quarters and put his opponent to the sword. His contested marking was excellent.
[3] Patrick Cripps: 32 possessions, 9 clearances, 5 tackles and 2 hitouts: he couldn’t have done much more, to be honest.
[2] Tom de Koning: If I’d read that Tom had 28 possessions, I’d have expected us to win comfortably, but that was not the case. His kicks were very ineffective and his ruck work was also not what we required.
[1.5] Jack Silvagni: Did a solid job in defence and almost made the difference when switched forward, Jack had a decent game.
[1] Ollie Hollands: Ollie provided a lot of run out of defence and had a decent night.
[0.5] Adam Cerra: Nice to see him back in the midfield, but he didn’t quite have the impact you’d expect from his possessions.
[0.5] Lucas Camporeale: Lucas had 20 possessions, included 7 in the first quarter. He made position well and marked decently, but his disposal was really off. Not many got to teammates. Still, pretty decent for a first game.
[0.5] Lachie Cowan: A solid game from Cowan.
[0.5] Blake Acres: Acres did some very nice things and probably won his position.
[0.5] Adam Saad: Saad was pretty good. He provided drive and run, but he rarely found anyone giving him a decent option to kick to.
Honourable Mentions:
Sam Walsh: A long way from his best, but he was far from our worst.
George Hewett: 25 possessions, 8 tackles; George worked hard, but lost impact when we couldn’t get a tap anywhere near him.
Sam Docherty: Doc managed quite a lot of the ball in not much game time, but his kicking! May God, it was ordinary!
