Don't worry, Fantasia is still only 7 more weeks away with his '1-week' calf injury.

The crazy thing is that the football we're playing and the pressure we're applying is capable of beating any side in the competition.
A few silly errors and free kicks have been costly.

The question mark will always be the sustainability.

The building blocks are reasonably sound IMO. The challenge is to apply the finishing touches. And some luck with injuries.

I tipped us this week. In the 2 competitions i'm in, which is about 50-60 all up, only 1 other bloke tipped us, and he's a carlton supporter who tips us every week. I am more likely to tip against us so i get a win-win result. If we lose the game, i win the tip.

So why did i tip us?

For the exact reason you stated above.
Our good footy can match it with anyone.
When we are fit, we play our best footy.
Last 2 weeks have been poor opposition, but dominant footy....and we've been fit.

So why not the cats?

Harry and Charlie had played about one quarter together this year before this game.
Small forwards got some confidence.
Midfield, including TDK, has been dominant.
SOJ has settled down back and Weitering is getting another AA jumper this year.

So....why not the cats?

Of course, we have a half to go, and even with the ZW injury, we should be able to hold on
....and dare i say it, even run away with it.

We made a ton of dumb errors in the first half which left the door ajar for the Cats.

They have come out after halftime with a renewed sense of attack and have trimmed the lead down a fair bit.

We have to be better this time around, you can make those errors against the cellar dwellers and get away with it but not this week.

He was asked to be CHB at the start of the year.
Now SOJ is playing CHB.....quite well....and Haynes is able to play to his strengths better and we are seeing benefits of it.

Regardless on what happens from here. I think we've proven a couple of things.

1. Our season is not over.
2. We can mix it with the best.
3. We are still improving.

Regardless of 1
2- we should, we don’t have a young list anymore. We have a complete A grade spine.
3- time for improvement is over. Our window is is now, before Tasmanian team arrives. Very long rebuild after.

No, a joke is the fact that over that 10 month period we have had consistently over 10 injuries. We have been fighting with 1 arm behind our back.

All things being equal. We are good enough.
That doesn't mean we will win every week. No team does, not even our 95 team.

But, a bit of perspective to all the 'sack voss' nonsense from a couple weeks ago.

The pies had about 1000 games more experience than us a few weeks ago. We are still a youngish team.

Will White and Matt Carroll weren't on the list at the end of last year. Now both learning each week.
Ollie Hollands, Jesse Motlop, Cooper Lord, Corey Durdin are still kids, improving every week.
SOJ is leaning a new role and improving every week.

I don't care who you are, if you don't improve, you go backwards.
