Holding seems to only apply to one side. Our lighter bodied defence (Cowan-Harry OF-Carroll) is struggling against heavier bodied marking types. Moir taken off the ball too easily, needs to fight to stay in the contest a lot harder.

There was a stat before the game.
Last year Cripps got 45 brownlow votes in a 3-2-1 system. Thus far this year, he has (i think) just 11 coaches votes in a 2x 5-4-3-2-1- system.
We need more from our captain.

Our fwd entries need to be lower and harder, the loopy high kicks give the defenders time. When we changed that in the first we scored a few goals.
Why does this happen - loopy handballs and kicks drive me fking nuts!

Yea theyre going through his man (HoF), through the HTB against him was BS. He's about 10kh shy of senior footy. Then again, at least he can pick up the ball unlike "Fumbles" McGovern, before he Fs up his dump kick. Our kicking into F50....shudder. Not sure what has happened to Charlie's kicking. Has 10 touches and 7 marks, so getting it ok, but keeps missing. Customary zero tackles but had 6 last week so that covers him for the next 3 weeks...lol.

Pittonet is responsible for half of our contested marks. It is only 1, but it was a good one deep in defence.
The other one was Moir taking a decent grab.
Not many winners out there, but picking on a couple players who have just come into the side is missing the mark on where the real troubles lie.
We need to find a handful of elite kicks to inject into the side. Doc, Cerra and Acres have the grunt and attitude required.....but cannot kick the thing. Probably add Cottrell when he comes back into that.
Hitting targets are our issue.

All in all, its 4 goals, and they got 1 on the siren. We had a terrible quarter, but its still very much within reach.
Honestly if i was offered 24 points at half time, i would've taken it.
All we need to do is ride out the 3rd quarter and stay within touching distance and keep that margin about the same as it is now. Then in the last, we can go all out and thats when we play better. Who knows what can happen from there.
This 3rd quarter will be difference maker one way or another.
We have so many small forwards and getting little between a lot of them. Fantasia, Motlop, Fogarty, Moir and Evans have a total of 25 touches between them average of 5 each. Need more from them.

Just saying, one is an AA FB and he did no better than Gov did.
Weitering is a liability at the moment and SOS out is compounding that.
Not saying Gov hasn't been to blame, but we are expecting him to play on their most dangerous small forward, which is hardly his go.

Pick me a side that would compete better than the side we picked tonight.
We talked about it in the pre-game and in the VFL thread. Lemmey (possibly) Ben Campo (probably) ....should have got a game tonight based on last weeks effort.
The other players talked about, were picked. Players dropped like Boyd, L. Young, Cincotta have all been ones that have ??'s on their future (if its not decided already).
Its not good enough across the board, but to suggest its because of the players picked is not thinking about the players not picked.

Four years to drill a squad in a system that has failed with incremental; year on year improvements with A grade talent on every line. Sooner we realise what an epic failure Voss has been the better.

It always amazes me how angry people get when we get beaten by a clearly better side who is on top of the ladder with daylight second and more daylight third.
Us on the other hand have been horribly out of form and made 6 changes.
I think its a fair representation of where the 2 sides are at.

Not really, they started the night 10 pts on top of the ladders, we were 10th. They should be smashing teams in the bottom end. Lets be realistic here.
Four years to drill a squad in a system that has failed with incremental; year on year improvements with A grade talent on every line. Sooner we realise what an epic failure Voss has been the better.
Played finals 2 out of 4, missed one series by 0.1%, perspective mate. Coll missed the 8 last year after winning the flag.

I don't.. we have exponentially deteriorated since mid last year.
Now the squad has lost all faith... getting spanked three weeks in a row in AFL land with the talent the squad has on the list means - not getting the best out of the squad.

No one cares if he stays or goes.
Apparently not, no matter what Pc and co say publicly, the passion, desire etc hasn't been in the group for quite a long time. Explains a lot of the issues. Btw, , I didn't see or hear the game because I'm overseas atm, but just seeing tdk FP (48) ... Did he really play that bad? If so, then he has already checked out mentally, like a lot of our team , and who can blame him. But they should ask him for an answer asap , otherwise vfl, and get some other kid to take his place imo.

No he didn't play that bad, he played worse.
