Notes:
[1] It is very unlikely that Acres will play. He is supposed to be 'resting'. I'd be getting him fit for next year, but that is me.
I hope that Will Hayes plays. I keep mentioning his leadership; maybe if I do it enough, the powers that be will notice.
[2] We have 10 named listed players, and will probably have 9. Of them, only Acres has significant experience. They have 16 listed players.
[3] Interesting to see us trial Sam Paea. He is a big lump of a lad who played as a forward as a junior. Apparently, he is set to play in defence, as we have no tall defenders.
[4] Also interesting to see Cooper Hamilton named. I had hopes for him, but this is his first game.
[5] Our team is very unbalanced; we have 1 key forward and a resting ruckman as tall targets. We have no real tall defenders, although Phillips does his best in this area. I hope Paea can show something, as we are desperate for tall at the moment..

No Acres, but we do have Will Hayes.

Denver Grainger-Barass gets our first goal.

Enz, your lad just got a point.

That is pretty obvious from the 2nd quarter.  Really up against it. Dee’s having a romp so far.

This has gotten real ugly for us.  Charleson and lucas campo the only afl players making a claim.

Flynn Reilly battling away but lowering his colours.  Has kicked a goal and taken 5 marks around the game.  Can't really ask for too much more.

Wilson looks flat.

Potentially that's why he didnt play last night.  Hopefully we are managing the younger players better these days.

I've been out and didn't start watching until about ten miutes to go in the third
I'm struggling to see why we're so far behind.
Seems pretty even to me.
Obviously missed the worst of it.

(Ah, starting to see it now.) ::)

Some really undisciplined play at the end there.
2x the Devil's rule and 50 metres

I haven't noticed Lemmey since I've been watching.

If he's not on the field for the last quarter he's probably debuting Thursday. ;)
We lost
Casey 22-18 -150 v Carlton 6-6-42

Yeah 107 point loss.  At least get the detail right.  We've given away a free for 6-6-6 breach.

Thats not good enough.

Was hard to really read into any of it because we were so soundly beaten. The dee's had a much more mature side out there and it showed.

I saw as much as you Lods and also pondered where Lemmey was… hopefully not injured.

Gulf between mature bodies and kids was almost criminally obvious. Gotta feel for Luke and the boys having to go into the game so under manned.

That's one reason why the MC has been (rightly) reluctant to select players like Binns in past seasons - too many lightweights who struggle to cope with the physicality of the VFL - let alone the AFL.

Hopefully not injured.

I suspect it's more a case of 'rested pending debut'.

He'd have a minimum recovery time if he played a full game today and backed up on Thursday. ;)

Luke Power shouldn't be held responsible for any bad loss at the moment.
He has one of the most difficult roles at the club.
His team is picked apart by the seniors on a regular basis.
He has to manage a development role with a game style that makes the players ready for the AFL team.
He's one we should be keeping.

No Ben no Carlton VFL.
Too many AFL listed players missing.
VFL may get one back - Durdin most likely if Jack trains during the week.

Jack played 10 minutes in each in quarter of game time then played the whole last quarter.

He ended up kicking 2.1 goals, sprayed his first kick in VFL for a behind also had one touched on the line from a kick off the ground.

Overall he looked comfortable and bigger than Billy Wilson and Harry Charleson.

Hopefully gets another game v Sandy next weekend.

Congrats Enz 👍🏼
