Not the news I wanted to hear:
A foundation club that ran its AFLW program into the ground through inept management gets a leg up ::)
Gold Coast and GWS got assistance packages too but I think that's more acceptable.
f*** off.
Where was our assistance when they poached Bri Davey?
Or when we lost Prespakis and Gee
.....and Hoskings x2
.....and Egan, Walker, Stevens, Jones.....i could go on for a while.
Absolute Garbage. How can an organisation that hums along int he mens comp, get an assistance package?
Even North melbourne are more worthy because they are almost defunct in the mens comp and have somehow picked themselves off the canvas in AFLW (largely because the gap between haves, and have nots is not so large due to the money that comp generates).
What a load of rubbish.
Is North's dominance in this competition becoming a real problem?
No doubt things will eventually turn, but the chances are they'll go through undefeated again next year.
Need tassie to poach their coaches and players
You have to wonder why North’s men’s program is so inept 🤔
I read an article recently that went into how well prepared North were for AFLW and how the decision not to grant them a foundation licence was inexplicable. Their ability to maintain that state of preparation in the face of that disappointment is commendable.
Their girls have to be favourites for the next couple of years … unless they swap personnel with the men.
I reckon it's fantastic, Principal LODS. Men's and women's comps should be studying and gulping in what they do to create such dominance. Sure, they have the players but their mental attitude is really superior. Crocker will be on many radars.
I can't see it transferring to the men's teams Baggers.
I think the dominance of North's women's side is purely that they have a jump on other sides in a relatively new competition.
They will eventually come back to the pack, but for the next year or two they'll be hard to beat, and that dominance isn't necessarily good for the growth of the game in the short term.
I agree Lods. Despite being late to the party, North has put together a list that is simply bigger, stronger and faster than everyone else.
We have focused on fast, skilful players and they’re good enough to beat most teams. Brisbane just brushed aside in the prelim, as they were brushed aside in the granny.
North may well come back to the field in time, but we need to bring in some big, tough bodies to be close to matching them.
To paraphrase Bill Hayden, a driver’s dog could coach North to a premiership. It’s their list management team that deserves recognition.
This I still don't understand.
Not sure if there is more to the story, but i rate her above ahandful of players that were in our finals side and she plays the way you need to play to win finals as well.
Doubt Good is going anywhere. Mates with Kez who got her across to the club.
Austin....i'd be open to a trade for the right price.
Also....
Former pick 1 wants to go to the powerhouse club who doesn't lose games. ::)
Skepper had a terrible season and is way off the pace now; too small, too slow, no penetration in her kicks, and no tricks.
The benchmark now is taking a spot in North’s 21 and Keeley would be lucky to be in their best 31.
