[1] Our 3 senior emergencies are Reidy, Flynn Young and Zac Williams. One of them will probably not play, maybe two.
[2] Playing 3 rucks? I don't like it.
[3] I am a little surprised that neither of the Camporeale boys got a guernsey this week, but we seem to think we can play finals. I hope Cerra is as fit as he is supposed to be.
I hope that boys can show enough to be considered in the last few weeks.
[4] We haven't got many KP types in the seniors, what are we going to use for them in the 2's? The only height we have is our rucks.
Well, luckily Dane Harvey and Sam Paea are performing reasonably, even if Paea can't kick.
[5] Hopefully Tucker is fit to play, as we need a few old heads out there. He is doing more than Saady is at the moment.
I really hope Saady can show some form. I'd like to give one final game. But his form of late has been less than inspiring.
I reckon there is probably an element of doubt regarding Pittonet, Hewett and Cerra taking the field in the AFL
They may all play but we might need to see some of those emergencies to take the field in the seniors and be unavailable for this game.

[1] 14 listed Blues, but we may have as few as 11. Interesting to see if any of the Emergencies play.
[2] Moir and Chesser injured. Particularly poor timing for Moir, who had to have been in the picture to replace H. We have so few taller players, to lose Moir is a huge blow.
[4] We will miss Hogg, who has been a mainstay for the VFL side. Not having Tucker available is also a huge loss.
[5] Interesting to see Duffy named on a wing. To be honest, that was probably where he was originally aimed to play. Does he have the run these days?
[6] 3 rucks. I must admit I don't like that all that much, but hopefully one or more than take a few big grabs in the forward line. Not sure I'd trust any of them kicking for goal, but we have to have someone tall.
[7] I look at the Gold Coast side and I wonder how they've won so few games. There is some serious talent out there! They have a huge forward line! Read, Ugle-Hagan, Knobel and Witts, just for talls. Hopefully, they play as poorly as they have, but at some point that much talent had to fire.
Why weren't Chesser and Moir noted on our weekly injury list, they are senior listed players??

Something I've noticed from time to time but I'm not sure it's much of a thing is that Ben Camporeale seems to start matches fairly slowly but after quarter time he starts to accumulate possessions pretty quickly.

I'm a bit disappointed in Riley who has put in some not great efforts at times.
Charleson is a player that works hard but not a standout
Ison has done a couple of good things but probably not enough from him to earn a recall.
Into the last and Hollands is making a claim.
You give them a bit of a knock and they've all lifted in the early part of the last quarter. :D :D
Charleson is the one I think has more of a future.
Not sure what it is about him, just seems a likely type.
Ison been very creative.

Ollie hollands been busy, but dissapointing. Not sure whata happened to him. Been moved around too much at afl level and hasn't found a spot to call his own.
O keefe is a better ruckman than a forward, but isnt particularly good at either.
Boyd's dissapointing. Not sure what happened to him, but he turns it over a lot.
Tyson Gresham is an interesting player. Very quick, crumbs and uses it well when he gets it.
O'Keefe would have to be in a bit of trouble in terms of remaining on the list.
I hadn't even noticed him until he was caught with the ball a while back.

Going into the game with 3 talls on a wet day seemed odd, but perhaps we're wanting to look at all three. Doesn't look good for HOK.
Yep, GC kicking 2.12 in the middle 2 qtrs kept us in the contest!
There were a few strange aspects with this team.
I'm not sure what we were up to....
But from the named side
Fogarty and Lucas C.... didn't play, despite being named, but they were not on the injury list
Chesser and Moir.... were listed as being out injured, despite not being on the injury list.
I suspect Reidy also didn't play the second half.
I don't remember seeing him and his stats didn't seem to move after half time. Riley's output improved and O'Keefe started to take a few ruck contests.
I originally thought he may have been a late change for the afternoon game....but the time frame didn't make sense. Too close.
He may have been injured or it may have been tactical and we'll go with two rucks against Brisbane.
It is nice to win because we kicked straight for a change. It usually goes the other way.
I will enjoy watching the replay.
Ben Camporeale: 30 possessions, 7 marks, 4 tackles, 6 clearances: not bad stats for the youngster.
Ollie Hollands: 28 possessions, 10 marks, 10 tackles and 2 clearances. 10 tackles is excellent for Ollie.
I hope we are looking at Liam Farrar: he kicked another 3 goals today. At the moment, he is our best hope of a score.
Sam Paea had 17 possessions, but didn't score.
Jack Ison had a quiet day. But he will be back. Just needs to get some confidence up.
For next pre-season I'd like to see him working more with the mids: he can do the job and it would get him into the play a bit more.
To be honest, Gold Coast had so much more talent out there, but still lost. Ugle-Hagan, for example. Witts, who dominated the ruck. But Gold Coast are tracking about as poorly aa side can.
I thought Paea spent most of his time in defence today, Crash.
Fair enough. I'll see it when I see the replay. Considering his kicking at goal, that probably wasn't a bad thing.

Started on jamarra and after jamarra had 3 they swapped to dane Harvey and paea played loose. That suited him better as an interceptor.
Watched the first half so far. The best bits to come. :)
I do have a number of observations:
[1] Ben Camporeale really does backend games.
I've noticed before that Ben often seems to have big last quarters, but I hadn't realized just how often he does it. It is almost his modus operandi, which tells you that he has the tank. Body strength ... I still have some questions there, but he is coming along nicely.
His disposals were also pretty good in the first half. I am sure he will get a senior game before the end of the year. Billy Wilson had a couple last year and it did him the world of good.
[2] Our total lack of key position types:
If we lack these at senior level, and it is obvious, it is almost the defining feature of the VFL side. We haven't had any all year, which is why Moir has been our primary target, but without him yesterday the only tall forward was O'Keefe, who had an ordinary one.
In defence, Duffy, Harvey and Paea managed to do the deed, especially after half time. Paea couldn't handle Ugle-Hagan, but Harvey managed to contain him well. Harvey had 12 possessions and 7 marks and has generally impressed this year. He had an ordinary patch when we started out losing streak, but he has been very good in the last 5 weeks.
Paea was excellent when moved onto Knobel, having 17 possessions and 12 marks!
Duffy: he isn't getting many possessions and not much kudos, but he is doing the job negatively. His disposal and decision making have improved a lot. But, do we give him another year? We might, as we are just so short of players his size.
It is very frustrating to see Monahan injured, as he was really coming along. His pace was more noticeable, because he was getting more of it.
[3] Our rucks:
I can't see all 3 of our present rucks still on our list in 2027. And Hudson O'Keefe looks like drawing the short straw. He isn't getting enough ruck minutes, and he does have a decent leap, and he isn't getting enough of the ball. He barely touched it in the first half.
Riley didn't have a big game, but he does have a future. He also can take a decent contested mark.
Reidy was well beaten early, but clearly did better in the second half. He needs more strength if he is going to be a senior player.
[4] Our VFL boys:
We had 11 AFL listed players yesterday, which is probably the least we've had all year. But, as has been the case for most of the year, many of our VFL boys have stood up.
Jack Sammartino had 23 possessions and has impressed me this year. He has been a big in for this year. And it hasn't just been getting the ball: he has often had a job and has done them well. He was reasonably quiet in the first half, but clearly finished strongly.
Tom Howard must have wondered why it took so long to get a game. He didn't have huge numbers, but he was in the right spot and kicked truly.
I didn't see much of Farrar at all in the first half, but he kicked 3 after half time. He is a goal kicker, no doubt. The negative on him is that he can disappear from games, but he has been one of our better pickups. He might even get a chance to train-on, which I wouldn't have any issues about. If he can get to be more consistent, he has the traits to make it.
Logan Prout always is a contributor. He didn't have a big game this week, but he always has a job and does it with minimum fuss. And he has become a goal kicker this season.
Alwyn Davey started well, kicking 2 early goals, but disappeared after that. Still, he wasn't as useless as I expected. 4 tackles I liked.
Tyson Gresham probably won't make it, as he is that bit too small, but he is clever. I liked what he was doing when he got the chance. Good hands and good skills.
Ollie Warburton also had a good game back in the midfield.
[5] Why have Gold Coast been so useless?
Gold Coast had 16 AFL listed players, including guys who really should be stars. But, like their seniors, they don't tackle like our guys do. Considering that they dominated the ruck, their midfield should be ashamed of themselves.
Jye Farrar looked like he was going to make it not long ago, Now he's getting 9 possessions in the VFL. That is almost typical of this mob, serious underachievers.
They forgot the most important ingredient in player and coach recruitment, choosing club culture over potential and promise.
