AFL 2026 Rd 13:   Carlton vs Essendon
Like the Richmond game, most of us were disappointed by the way we played against the Drug Cheats. However, they gave it their best shot, and they couldn't beat us when we were as flat as a tack. I am willing to give a little kudos, but not that much.

Trends:
[1]   There were 9 voters this round, which is more like what we get for a loss. Disappointing, especially when we've had 2 weeks to vote, but that was how we played.
please do vote, win, lose or draw: it is something we appreciate and it makes our statistics a lot more reliable. And our statistics hold up pretty well when it comes to John Nicholls Medal night!

[2]   The rating was a 8.07, which represents a C.
Our rating of the Richmond game, for example, was 7.69 which says far too much.

[3]   16 players managed a mention again this week.

[4]   The average vote this week was 26, which is very ordinary for a win!. Scores are around 30 when we win, so read into that what you will.

[5]   3 players managed 100 votes or more.

[6] Crippa didn't win this week, although he did get some votes. Harry McKay judged BOG this week, for the first time this year. he has certainly improved in the last few weeks. George Hewett managed 2nd, his first top 2 rating for the year. Harry Dean managed 3rd, his first top 3 finish.

[7]  One player managed votes from everyone this week; Harry McKay. Dean and Hewett missed from one voter.

[8]   We had a much more rounded distribution of votes this week, even though the values were generally low. Our recruits put their hands up, as did a youngsters and our experienced players (who have generally been down this year). Our defenders and mids got most of the votes as we still struggle to kick goals.

[9]   Harry Dean was our best youngster for the night, followed by Smith, Wilson and Byrne

AFL 2026 Rd 15:   Carlton vs GWS in Sydney
To defeat GWS on their home deck was a considerably better performance than struggling to get over the line against the Drug Cheats. Also, winning without Weitering was a real positive.

Trends:
[1]   There were 10 voters this round, which is more like what we get for a loss. Disappointing, but that's how it is. In the corresponding round last year only 6 people voted.
please do vote, win, lose or draw: it is something we appreciate and it makes our statistics a lot more reliable. And our statistics hold up pretty well when it comes to John Nicholls Medal night!

[2]   The rating was a 9.73, which represents a A-, a considerable improvement.
Our rating of the Richmond game, for example, was 7.69 which is probably the lowest we could get and still win.

[3]   18 players managed a mention again this week, which is very high. Clearly, our voters decided that most of our players made a contribution significant enough to recognize.

[4]   The average vote this week was 32, which is the 2nd highest of the year!. Scores are around 30 when we win, so read into that what you will. The only better one was against Geelong.

[5]   5 players managed 100 votes or more, and a 6th missed by 3! We rarely get into this territory.

[6] Crippa didn't win this week, although he did come second. Sam Walsh was judged BOG this week, for the sixth time this year.  George Hewett managed 3rd, his second top 3 rating for the year. Jagga Smith and Nic Newman filled in the placings.

[7]  Two player managed votes from everyone this week; Cripps and Walsh. Smith and Hewett both missed from 1 voter.

[8]   Our midfield guns dominated the voting this week, with the top 4 spots going to our mids. Our defenders got votes, but nothing like what the mids got, and our forwards are making contributions, but not starring. Our youth continues to get noticed with Smith starring. And our more mature recruits have also been strong contributors.

[9]   Jagga Smith was our best youngster for the night, followed by Cowan, Dean and Wilson.

Probably our largest win for the year, it was also a game where we won all 4 quarters. That doesn't happen to us much.

Trends:
[1]   There were 10 voters again this round, which is still closer to what we get for a loss than for most of our wins. Disappointing, but that's how it is. In the corresponding round last year only 8 people voted.

[5]   Again 5 players managed 100 votes or more, which remains on the high side. If we get fewer than 4, we usually struggle.

[6] Crippa didn't win this week, although he did come second, for the 2nd week ina row. Sam Walsh was judged BOG this week, for the seventh time this year.  George Hewett managed 3rd, his third top 3 rating for the year. Ben Ainsworth and Harry McKay rounded out the places.

[7]  Only two player managed votes from everyone again this week; Cripps and Walsh. Hewett and Ainsworth missed one.
