RIP Ozzy Osbourne July 26, 2025, 09:47:46 am I felt for sure that there'd be a tribute for Ozzy, then noticed there is one for Hulk Hogan... So here's one for Ozzy.Being raised on 60s music, and loving hard rock, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Led Zep and the like, were faves. Pioneers. Loved Ozzy, Plant/Page/Bonham, Ian Paice, Ritchie Blackmore... the 'Geezer' and so on.Surprised Ozzy lasted as long as he did considering his drug habits!! RIP Ozzy, you lovable & talented larrikin, yet, paradoxically devoted family man and quiet humanitarian. Quote Selected 1 Likes
Re: RIP Ozzy Osbourne Reply #1 – July 26, 2025, 11:46:45 am Not a Sabbath or Ozzy fan but he was an icon in the hard rock world and has his place in rock and roll history.Probably did well to get to the age he did given his addictions and lifestyle. Re: RIP Ozzy Osbourne Reply #2 – July 26, 2025, 11:51:33 am Not a big fan of his music but seemed like a good guy - bat biting aside. Seems to have made a nice family and did a lot for charity and seemed like a fun guy - RIP. Quote Selected 1 Likes
Re: RIP Ozzy Osbourne Reply #3 – July 26, 2025, 12:07:05 pm I think Ozzy (76) and Keith Richards (81 and still going) are clear examples of the fact we've been lied to.All this nonsense about living a 'clean' life for a long life is just that....nonsense.Go for it kids, it won't make a skerrick of difference. (Although you might not look the best .)Ozzy was one of the greats, a funny bugger too, as his reality series showed, He was a bit of a train wreck at times and his relations with his band were very much a hot and cold relationship. It was really good to see them get together for one last concert, even though Ozzy was obviously struggling.Over the years my music tastes have changed a great deal. In my young days my favourites were the American and English "teen idols", both boys and girls. That expanded through the years to embace a lot of folk and protest singers of the late 60s. I was an Elvis fan before the Beatles. A Beatles fan before the Stones, A glitter and glam fan before the super groups of the seventies and eighties."Rock and Roll I you all the best years of my life...but I was always just one step behind you" kind of sums it up.I came to Black Sabbath a bit later than the rest, but really enjoyed it when I got there.R.I.P Ozzy...but I'll be surprised if you actually do.
