Re: AFL Rd 21 2025 In Game Angst Carlton vs Fremantle Reply #108 – August 03, 2025, 07:50:10 pm Done. We were brave, but with half the team out, we were always going to struggle. Our fitness: that needs to be addressed soonest, before anything else. We cannot run out games. We dispose of the ball poorly after half time. That is lack of fitness! Quote Selected 1 Likes

Making sure we give them them the best deal possible.Jagga Smith better be worth it.Imagine we didn't trade up for pick 3.We'd most likely have 2 young kids instead - 1 mid, 1 small forward/KPP developing. We'd still have Owies on the list.We wouldn't have needed to add......Evans, White, Young....instead we could've added some other areas of need, like mids or HBF's who could have filled a few holes for us and offered depth across multiple positions on the ground, not just FP, and been able to deal with injuries better, thus leading to more wins. That in turn leading to happier players and a coach under less pressure. That in turn leading to TDK and SOS staying, as well as Walsh etc.Instead...We sold our soul for a bloke we hope will come on, but along with all the pressure we will put on him, he's also recovering from a knee injury. We've jeopardised our long term future because we've been, largely, unable to compete with the best for most of the year, partially off the back of his selection and the domino effect that created. So yeah.....he better be worth it. Not his faultRegardless of what happens.Certainly not his fault. But when the club goes all in on you at the expense of its future performances, then rightly or wrongly, the club has put a giant target on your back. Its just like Jack Watts at pick 1 (Nic Nat at 2).The whole footballing word hounded Watts because he couldn't leap tall buildings like pick 2.Stats wise, performance wise, Watts was a 'good enough' footballer. He just didn't do as well as "sideshow Nic" and got run out of town for it.Similar to Tom Boyd who took all the cash people through at him. Came with all the pressure and expectations. Not his fault, they through mountains of cash at him.Its us with Martin, McGovern......*insert your whipping boy of choice here*....its not their fault we offered them stacks of cash....but they've been judged as a result. For the record, I blame the club. Jagga will cop more pressure for than the 2 blokes who got picked before him, simply because of how we got him and what we said when we got him. Quote Selected
