It will be interesting to see how financial markets respond to a Trump win if the current trends continue.

No state has flipped yet.

I said "if the current trends (which clearly favour Trump) continues".
You would rather be in a leading position at this stage.
Any Democrat optimism is based on what happened in the 2020 election.
It will be a difficult task, but yes...not impossible.

From what I have read they have factored in a Trump win, Id expect markets to slide whoever wins, Trump has promised tax cuts and tariff increases but I expect those to be reeled in like last time he threatened to make the USA an island when reality hits him.
Democrats will increase taxes to pay for social welfare reforms/assistance but again getting that stuff through congress wont be easy. Id expect a whole lot of nothing apart from Trump chasing his enemies and doing SFA for anyone else and Kamala dithering around talking large and only fixing the minor fringe stuff.
Meanwhile Putin, Xi and Kim Jong jr are fecking up the rest of the world knowing the USA is in a state of dysfunction and timing their run.

I think that's why I went off on a tangent and started talking about financial markets. ::)
I'm shutting down for a couple of hours. ;)

The real race is 232-229 Trump with the 6 swing states left. It's not over yet.

It's a tell when Nigel Farage rolls up to your election party, a tell you've reached the bottom of the barrel in terms of societal credibility!

Seems little doubt that the Orange One will end up back in the White House. Patterns and trends have favoured him. An interesting psychological oddity is that in difficult times, folks lean to conservatism (in the case of the US, Republicans). Plus, with the oddities of the College System in the US, Democrats tend to require 3 million+ more of the popular vote to win. At the moment that would require about a 9 million swing to the Dems.

Popcorn please, with real butter.

Its the old adage that a "drowning man will cling onto a serpent", in this case its a drowning country...
Im wondering if Harris has suffered from lack of turn out rather than lack of support?

Yeah certainly looks that way.  I'm no expert on this but it would take a turnaround of 1970 grand final proportions for the democrats to get in from here.

At least that will be the end of Trump after this time is served.  What's a bet he gets impeached in 2 years?

A perfect storm - a population distracted from the impoverishment of their existence by a continuous of cycle of production and consumption, a totally crape Democratic party having zero to offer, and a crude, vulgar, senile bullcrap artist who panders to his constituents' baser instincts. Well done US. This is what a billionaire funded duopoly gets you.

This is a snapshot of America 2024 :

Record high homelessness
Record high suicide rates
Life expectancy plummeting
Cost of living rising
Bankruptcies surging
Child poverty soaring
Widespread food insecurity
Stagnant minimum wage
Credit card debt crisis
Student loan debt crisis
Mental health crisis
Obscene wealth inequality
Millions without healthcare
Unrelenting gun violence
Xenophobic immigration policy
Systemic racism and bigotry
Civil rights under assault
24/7 mass surveillance
Climate catastrophe ignored
Military budget skyrocketing
Unlimited funding for war
G______e

Do they seriously think Trump will save them ? Are they even aware ? Do they even care ?
