Comparing Trumps decisions to the lack of decisions Aus politician's make IMO is very relevant to this thread.

No, it’s not because this thread will just become another forum discussing Australian or State politics.  Feel free to explore any such matters in the dedicated Australian politics thread.

There’s more than enough subject matter generated by #47 to keep this thread going.

yeah nah

It really is a pain in the bum to try and keep two threads operating on the same topic.
It also makes the thread hard to follow as we switch between overseas and local.

I see you've made comment on the situation in Europe in the Australian politic thread Shawny and related it to the Australian situation.
That's the way to do it if we want to make comparisons.

This thread has over 300 pages and is U.S specific.
With the shenanigans I expect with the mid-terms in a couple of weeks it's probably going to get pretty busy in here so let's keep the two separate.

Alarmism is part of the right-wing political brief, a tool used by proper tools to foster anarchy as a way to make people react emotively without justification or thought, just act on fear or panic and it is usually mob based.

It will appear everywhere even a thread about vegemite if someone starts one!

It's quite ironic for RedTrump, Putin's diesel fuel shill, to point at France and complain that the very political tool he uses in his own backyard is now apparently evil in socialist France. Capitol Hill happened!

Not exactly new, but as the date for the mid terms draws closer, concerns and discourse are mounting that the Reps and particularly DJT, will refuse to accept any results he doesn't like, and has been planning for a long time for all manner of tactics to interfere as he deems necessary, including canceling the election altogether.

It's really quite something to watch the major superpower become a 3rd world, corrupt, strife-ridden, shambolic state, in real time.

The alarming thing is that Hegseth has effectively removed all senior miltary personnel with the courage to stand up to Taco.

The courts, and even Taco's appointees, are a different kettle of worms and are generally even-handed in their applyication of the law, much to Taco's dismay and displeasure.  It remains to be seen whether the civil powers will line up with Taco or the courts.

While it seems easier to amend the US constitution that it is to change ours, the fact remains that it is an 18th century document and the founding fathers couldn't foresee the complexities of the 21st century or the emergence of a cult following a malignant narcissistic megalomanic.  It's unfortunate that some of the founding fathers weren't founding mothers.

The problem for us is we're one of the 'provinces' and it will have an impact on us in terms of things like defence.
USA and reliablity don't really go together at the moment....and it's not something we can rely on.
I'm not sure we ever could, but there was a degree of comfort in the idea that we had an ally who would have our backs.

I'm not sure where we fit when the 'Three Amigos'  meet to divide up the World.

Trump said he could have won the Vietnam war in a week by targeting Ho Chi Minh city (Saigon) :o
Well that probably would have done the trick. :D  :D  :D
Saved a lot of lives. ;)

He could probably end the Ukraine/ Russian war by bombing Kiev. ;)

It is an absolute disgrace for the draft dodger to denigrate veterans with his ignorant, narcissistic  claims about winning wars and then there’s his stolen valour AI images.  Apart from his confusion over history and geography, he has no grasp of military doctrine or strategy.  Despite that, he has won the war with Iran more times than anybody has ever seen before.

Then there’s his most recent narcissistic, if slightly tongue in cheek, announcement suggesting that the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool becomes the Trump Reflecting Pool.

In fact, that’s probably not such an outlandish proposal; the Reflecting Pool is shallow, it leaks, turns funny colours, fills up with rubbish, and costs millions to maintain.

It is interesting to watch his electioneering appearances.  There is still some moronic applause for his inane comments but it is noticeable that disbelief and/or stunned silence has become a common response.

Donald Trump Jr., the president’s eldest son, drew a wave of online ridicule after complaining that Democrats want to make Ohio a state.

Trump Jr. made the remark Monday while actually in the Buckeye State to campaign for Republican candidates.

Meanwhile, Taco has returned to his incredible discovery that dumb is spelt with a B:

“Their policies are dumb. You simply replace the ‘e’ with a ‘u’, and nobody knows that ‘dumb’ has a ‘b’, and you get the word ‘Dumocrat’.

He must be the only person in the English-speaking world that knows how to spell dumb  ::)
