Re: Jim Park Voting: Rd 16: Carlton vs Melbourne Reply #1 – July 10, 2017, 02:36:05 pm Didn't expect to be starting things off. I guess others have used other threads to express their frustrations. So be it.Team: CWe were the better team on the day, but we failed. Can’t give them much higher. Very frustrating as we really did have chances to win.Votes:[2] Sam Docherty[2] Bryce Gibbs[1.5] Marc Murphy[1.5] Matthew Kreuzer[1.5] Sam Kerridge[1.5] Kade Simpson[1] Charlie Curnow[1] Lachie Plowman[1] Levi Casboult[0.5] Liam Jones[0.5] Sam Petrevski-Seton[0.5] Jack Silvagni[0.5] Daisy ThomasExplanations:I found this pretty hard for a lot of reasons. First and foremost, so many of our players really put in, while not one stood out. Others couldn’t put 4 quarters together, but everyone contributed. It was a very even performance by so many.[2] Sam Docherty: 30+ possessions and really had an impact. 10 marks and 7 tackles.[2] Bryce Gibbs: Considering how badly we lost in the ruck, our mids really did well to minimize this influence. Gibbs was excellent.[1.5] Marc Murphy: Like Gibbs, he made the most of a losing ruck to get clearances and he kicked 2 excellent goals.[1.5] Matthew Kreuzer: Pounded in the ruck by Gawn, Kreuzer killed him around the ground and was a dabgerous target at all times. It he could have converted his opportunities, we would have won.[1.5] Sam Kerridge: An excellent effort after last week. He had a job and he did it while getting 35 possessions himself.[1.5] Kade Simpson: A typical Simpson game.[1] Charlie Curnow: Another 10 marks and 19 possessions this week. A fine effort.[1] Lachie Plowman: Took the role from Marchbank and really did a fine job in defence.[1] Levi Casboult: Took some excellent marks, but could not capitalize on it near goal.[0.5] Liam Jones: Thrashed his man again, but didn’t have a same success attacking the ball this week. [0.5] Sam Petrevski-Seton: When Sammo is fit and experienced enough to produce 4 quarters, look out! He had 9 tackles and kicked an impossible goal and impressed every time he had the ball. Put his body on the line much better this week.[0.5] Jack Silvagni: Started very well and held sway in the air against his man. Ripped off not to get a mark paid at one point as the only thing to touch the ball was Oxygen. Ran out of gas a bit.[0.5] Daisy Thomas: Dangerous and smart. Did his role well.Honourable Mentions:David Cuningham: 17 possessions and 5 tackles indicated he is well on the way.Jed Lamb: A solid effort from Lamb.Cripps: We missed him when he went off injured. Om his way to another 35 possessions game. Quote Selected
