2018 VFL Rd 9: Northern Blues vs Geelong at Ikon May 31, 2018, 12:00:14 pm Yes, we play Geelong this Saturday at Ikon Park at 1400. This is a Double Header, with the VFLW match starting at 1130. So it will be a big day at Carlton. I'll see if I can get there. I definitely won't be able to get to Sydney. Quote Selected

MacreadieThis does not read so well: 2 Carton boys in, but 4 go out. Only one of those to the seniors. Williamson is done for the year in all probability. Macreadie is also injured. Not quite sure why Phillips is out. Lobbe and de Koning are the rucks, with Harman as a back-up. Not a lot of power in the forward half, but Harry McKay will be a good target.GeelongB: 62. C. Frustrating. Quote Selected

Re: 2018 VFL Rd 9: Northern Blues vs Geelong at Ikon Reply #14 – June 02, 2018, 08:29:31 pm First match at the Northern Blues for a while. Pretyy poor performance. However, if the Blues had kicked straight, we probably would have only been defeated bt about six goals. Missed some real sitters, McKay, De Konning, prime suspects. Polson did some nice things, Glass-Mccasker was probably our bets, but the ball was down there a lot, not sure why Shaw is on the list, solid player but doesn't really add much, Schumacher was in and out, Graham got the ball, Mullet ran up and down the wing and Lobbe was disappointing. I reckon when they drafted Lobbe they were hoping for a cameron Wood or Barnaby French type ruckman, someone who gives their all and makes a contest. Not sure Lobbe is making a contest. Not shaw why phillips didn't play, a kid named Harman played, 20 years old and 200cm, so it could not have been for team balance. I think we would be better off having Harmon on the Rookie list rather than Shaw, and someone with pace instead of Lobbe.Harry McKay is bigger than the listed 200cm. He is going to be a big man. I think he should be getting developed as the Kreuzer replacement. He is mobile, a good mark and isn't afraid of getting into packs and clearing the way for smaller players. Quote Selected
