Yes, that's a big win.

And let's not underestimate the effect of Jack Martin working behind the ball. He is equally good at delivering the pill inside 50 (in the style of an outside receiver) as he is winning the darn hard ball get in the guts, in serious congestion.

Would be happy to see Jack and Crippa tie for the Brownlow one year.

Finally, if Harry and/or SOJ had converted early in the 4th, things would never have got so tight.

Big H really needs to sort his kicking out.

Gibbsy was too bad on his non preferred but not Scotto level. Scotto and Sam Mitchell were in the elite category as far as the both feet skill is concerned. I noticed Matty Rowel dob one from a long way out on his non preferred, No kids these days possess that skill.

Got tired of Scotland swinging onto his left and chipping moon balls onto blokes' heads.  He could kick on his non preferred side,  but it certainly wasn't stylish or particularly effective all the time.

Can't recall a recent game where the Blues delivered the ball so well by foot - accurate and to advantage - at least during the first 3 terms.

Not surprised we were stuffed in the final term because the players ran so hard to pressure the pussies during the first 3 term (instead on simply trying to corral them, which has been the case for so many years). The noticeable difference in team intensity in the final term enabled the pussies to deliver the ball without pressure.

Agree. We came very close to losing it in the last - very close, undoing 3 quarters of great work. We smashed them in the aerial game - the different categories of marks all in our favour. Clearly the result of good kicking and blokes running themselves ragged to create separation, get to position etc. Pretty much everything else (tackles, CP's, I50's, scoring shots, clearances etc. ) all in their favour.

I hope this is a portent for the future and not just papering over the cracks.

And why is it that playing three tall forwards was poo pooed under Bolton, yet now, no problemo ? Oh wait............

Yes, we worked ultra-hard to create a lot of space, it has an impact in the end as you mention, but the benefit was we were rewarded with time to deliver the football as good as we ever have. Probably since the days of Fev. Having confidence in those clunking the football might also be a big factor, there was no hesitation in who to kick to.

I think as time passes we'll learn to balance the intensity, and pick the moments which will help preserve some leg speed at the tail end. Interesting Teague claimed they had plenty of legs left, but he felt the increased pressure made them hesitant.

I think the Handbaggers are a good team on their own terms, but there is no escaping their better players are older players.

I'm worried about Plowman, beaten often and seems to be the oppositions avenue to goal more often than not.
