Metabo and festool have the best (corded) orbital sanders, and potentially battery as well but havnt used the battery version.

Backing pads (velcro bits) coming off is relatively common problem. My battery milwaukee one did it 6 months ago. Trying to get a replacement is a bit tricky as i have the older model. Even though they use the same size pads they've changed the hole locations and they dont line up.

This is a common problem. Each manufacturer has their own individual way of doing things and most items are not compatible across brands. Obviously batteries are the obvious ones, but backing pads, vacuum hose fittings, there is a large list.

Pick a brand and hope they are easy to get replacement parts and batteries for otherwise your system is dead before you get going.

Getting compatible fittings for my DeWalt compressor was a challenge.  My nail gun/stapler looks clunky, but it works  :)

I mentioned previously that I have an adaptor that enables me to use DeWalt batteries on AEG tools.  They look clunky too, and the balance is different, but they work and for a lot longer.

I just stuffed the backing pad on my multi tool.  It's a relatively new model and getting a replacement isn't a problem, just an additional expense.  Memo to self; always use the correct tool for the job!

Sorry but burning the Australian flag at a protest disgusts me and loses all my respect. The Rent-a-crowd mobs stooped to new lows this year IMO.

Happy Australia to those who love this country and what it is, we are still very fortunate by comparison.

Thankfully knocked over everything i had to do outside early today, now back at home in nice air-con.

Building sites are like a ghost town today, roads pretty similar.

I was watering plants I don't want to lose this morning - until the rainwater tank ran dry.  We've had less than 2mm of rain this month and the January mean is 46mm.

And, speaking of rain, does anyone else think that the new BOM website is rubbish?

^^  I tend to rely on willy weather more than anything BOM related.  Its all driven by the same data.   For some reason Willy is better at the winds than BOM is.

Likewise, Pauly. Now that I'm used to it I find I can navigate it pretty well.

I was lucky when in the Navy to have a good mate who was a PO MET (Petty Officer, Meteorologist) who taught me lots of little tricks... especially how to understand highs, lows and isobars to understand and even predict future weather.

Def not my fav show but a bit of a mind numbing distraction on this V hot day.
Dyson Heppell, one of the 'players', is interesting to watch. Hasn't endeared himself to me. Lots of 'yeah brother' type positive talk.  Makes me wonder what he would have been like as a club captain. Seems a decent enough bloke ( all very edited of course) but way too cheesy as a leader. Not what I'd like as a club captain I don't think.
Then again,  maybe more players are actually like this.
