Jim Park Voting 2020 AFL Rd 9: Carlton vs Hawthorn

We are not on free-to-air TV again. Such is life. I won't be seeing the game live, as I'll be driving home to Bendigo.

Remember:
[1] 15 votes in total
[2] No more than 10 votes for any one player (even Cripps)
[3] Three players at least must get a mention.
[4] A grade for the game, A+ (what I want to see) to F-.

I spent most of my money on Women and grog.
The rest I just wasted.

I found it difficult to reconcile that first quarter with the rest. But considering that we couldn’t get the ball after quarter time, we did pretty well not to get murdered.
Not sure why we were so ordinary, but we really were a different team after that start.

Votes:
I really found it difficult to vote this week after our solid performances in recent times. We barely had a loser in the first quarter, but after that …
[3.5]   Patrick Cripps
[3.5]   Jacob Weitering
[3]   Levi Casboult:
[2]   Ed Curnow
[1]   Sam Docherty
[1]   Jack Martin
[0.5]   Marc Pittonet
[0.5]   Marc Murphy

Explanations:
[3.5]   Patrick Cripps:      Not quite back to his best, but Cripps played his best game for some time. There were times when he was almost the only Blue getting a kick.
[3.5]   Jacob Weitering:   Dominated his position and kept his opponents right out of the game.
[3]   Levi Casboult:      Levi was probably the only other player to win his position and he didn’t get a lot of the ball. His marking was excellent, and his kicking was solid.
[2]   Ed Curnow:      Not as effective in his negative role, but he still managed to be a contributor.
[1]   Sam Docherty:   Not bad,
[1]   Jack Martin:      Really exciting in patches, just not enough patches.
[0.5]   Marc Pittonet:      Got worn down after a powerful start. We really needed an extra ruck option.
[0.5]   Marc Murphy:      Adequate.

Honourable Mentions:
I can’t find any, to be honest. So many of our players struggled to get a possession after really good starts.

“Why don’t you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don’t you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don’t you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?”  Oddball

I'll close this thread in the morning. It is unlikely that anyone else would want to vote, but I must give them a chance.
