The media is shooting itself in the foot with it's artificial outrage over the recent dismissal confusion.

If the BCCI gets it's way Hotspot, Snicko and Ball Tracking will be kyboshed in favour of pure on field decision making. The BCCI want this because it's heavily invested in the idea that India's raucous and abusive home ground crowds give it a significant home ground advantage, an advantage that has been greatly diminished in recent years by the introduction of technology.

The BCCI has already succeeded in having Hotspot removed, that process started in a similar way to the synthetic outrage being spread about Snicko after the last test. Ironically, the situation that lead to Hotspot being removed was an almost identical mis-use of the technology, mis-use that the BCCI argued was proof of a technical failure just like Snicko the other day. But the failure was really the mis-use / mis-understanding of the technology by game officials not the technology itself, and I'd assert much of the mis-use results from perceived pressure from BCCI officials.

Without Hotspot, Snicko and Ball tracking the media will be forced into actually commentating the game and all those jobs for the boys will become toxic placements.

The media is gutless in it's debate of the technology, the players are muted in response, because they are all conflicted, growing fat latched tightly onto the teat of the BCCI run IPL!

Apart from the Indian media, it’s virtually unanimous that Jaiswal was out, the technology worked, the third umpire’s decision was correct, and the on field umpire got it very wrong.

I’ve been having some fun with Indian fans on social media.  Around 20% of them believe that Jaiswal was out, their team was outplayed and there are problems with the senior.  The rest believe that we’re racists, cheats, convicts, worth a fraction of Kohli’s wealth, and should be banned from the gentlemanly game of cricket 🤣

Did the f-wits mention the decision the day before that was completely incorrect favouring the Indian batsman? The review showed it was clearly out yet he was called not out. The ref was Indian btw.

It's all pointless debate in response to deliberately deceptive commentary designed to preserve a political power base in world cricket.

Kohli was out to a fair catch but, unlike India, we accept the umpire's decision and move on ...

I'm not expecting an ACB spokesperson to criticise the decision  ;D

I wonder if that would have been out, if it wasn’t for last weeks outrage?

Boland sure to be dropped again, just hasn't got what it takes!

Bolo has an amazing record given his limited opportunities ... although you could argue that he only plays when conditions suit.

It's hard to break up the most successful bowling quartet ever, particularly when the team is winning.  However, there is a very strong case to be made that Bolo should have been included in a five bowler rotation.  At worst, that could prolong some careers.

Webster's inclusion has made a huge difference in that Cummins doesn't have to worry too much about his workload and that of his three offsiders.

Khawaja wouldn't be going to Sri Lanka based on what I've seen, footwork is non existent.  Jumping, poking and fending doesn't work against decent pace bowling.

Khawaja probably isn't all too happy with his batting partner getting up Bumrah's goat  ::)

Yep like the batting aggression from Konstas but he probably didnt do Khawaja any service by firing up Bumrah and his teammates and hopefully he learns to just cool his heels at the right time.
Good bowling effort again especially from Boland but the pitch has been hard to play with bounce and movement and there will be some very bruised Indian batsman after copping plenty of hits especially in the delicate areas.
Thought Webster made a nice start with some good catching and tight bowling and it was a handy debut...
